My goodness, what a loss, what a force.
I had the absolute pleasure of doing 4 portrait shoots, document one show at Ryman Auditorium and had a few memorable backstage moments with Dolly over the years.
I read a friends post today saying “everyone has a Dolly story”, so true! Those of us who are lucky enough to have one sure love to tell it! Ask me mine one day and I’ll put a smile on your face.
Thank you Dolly for the memories, Nashville won’t be the same without you.

I’m excited to announce my newest exhibition “Homecoming” will be opening TONIGHT!

These portraits began as a search for inspiration after returning home and realizing that the familiar can be the hardest thing to truly see. Homecoming became less about making portraits and more about rediscovering a community, one conversation at a time.

Thank you to the Hammond Regional Art Center for not only hosting the show, but housing my attic studio I’ve used to create this body of work over the past 2yrs!

Opening Reception: Aug 7th 5-8pm

I’m excited to announce my newest exhibition “Homecoming” will be opening August 7th!

🇺🇸 250th 🇺🇸

Feeling especially thankful today for a life of travel that’s allowed my family and me to experience this country from sea to shining sea.

Every country has its problems, but not every country has the beauty, diversity, and character of the United States.

If this country feels like nothing but doom and gloom these days, I encourage you to hit the road. Drive as far as you can for as long as you can. Skip the interstates. Avoid the major cities. Eat at the local restaurants, stop at the farm stands, and explore the hidden-gem towns along the way.

Go to Brookings, Oregon, and see the incredible El Pulpo Mecánico on the Fourth of July. Head to Cheyenne, Wyoming, for Frontier Days. Watch lawn mowers drag race down Main Street in Priest River, Idaho, during Timber Days. The list goes on and on.

My point is this: what makes our country so special, in my opinion, isn’t found in the biggest cities. It’s found in the people, the small towns, the traditions, and the places you discover when you take the scenic route.

Get out there and enjoy the very best this country has to offer.

Last time I had my hair cut this short I was getting married. Felt like a good reason to have a new portrait made.
My oldest, Beckett, took this portrait of me while we were setting up for a shoot this weekend.
