We did it. We drove 20 of the past 36 hours, vehicles packed to the brim. Unpacked all her worldly possessions deemed necessary for college, tetrised all of it & more into a tiny dorm, and left them hundreds of miles away in Northern Territory.
Yes we brought a king cake for her new suite mates. & yes we ate 1/2 ourselves because they werenβt yet comfortable with the rule of when you walk by a king cake, you have to take a sliver and that knife stays in the box.
Sink or swim, theyβre officially college students now. We are so proud of them, all a little sad at the moment especially our Johnnie. The dog is confused as to the whereabouts of the girl, & my momma heart is also confused & tugging in a thousand ways. I know weβll all adjust & are generally just so excited for what the future brings them both!
The music coming from her halls made me burst out in tears as we walked out- i knew it was coming but it was that sudden onset ugly cry that really got us all going π.
I know sheβs exactly where sheβs supposed to be. πΆπ΅ & Freddyβs dorm view isnβt too bad either. ποΈβ€οΈ
