Melanie & Brandon 🤍

Their day was such a beautifully sentimental full circle moment for me. Melanie and I worked as nurses together - over quick lunches in the break room we’d dream about her marrying Brandon and about me going full time as a wedding photographer one day.

It’s been the most meaningful journey with them-from secretly photographing their proposal, to engagement photos, to their wedding day.

Their day was the kind of wedding day that stays with you long after the last dance 🤍

In my opinion, the eye for a wedding day can’t be taught or learned in workshops.

It comes from lived experience. Loss, grief, joy, travel, love. All the moments I’ve experienced shape how I view and capture all of the precious, sneaky, happy, and tender moments on your wedding day.🤍

You don’t have to give me a shot list. 🤍

I know it feels helpful to plan every pose and moment, but the truth is the best photos usually happen when you’re not thinking about anything besides how much fun you’re having.

When you trust me to guide your wedding day, you get to actually be present instead of checking things off a list. I’ll direct when I need to, step back when I don’t, and capture all the moments you didn’t notice were happening.

And in fact, if I were to give you one piece of advice, it would be to allow for tons of extra slack while you’re getting ready.

This will allow you to drink your coffee in peace.
Make small talk with your precious bridesmaids.
Hang out with your mom.
& really have the time to take in your day.

After shooting countless weddings, the brides that have the most peace and presence on their wedding day, have slow, intentional, spacious mornings.
