I wanted to give a shout out to a very talented artist. I have photographed Amy's work for a number of years, and have always been a fan of the unique process she employs when approaching her art. This last time together, in addition to photographing her latest pieces, I also had the pleasure of doing a professional headshot for her, which I love because of her infectious smile. Here is a brief description of her art, and process, in her own words:

I am a multidisciplinary artist exploring mark-making to create works on paper using traditional sculpture-making tools and methodology. Ta***ic repetitive movements make the gesture; each becomes a visual affirmation provoking a physical experience with the work. I am drawn to taking the discarded and revealing the unseen, the residue left behind.

I make my paper using materials I found in my life, such as my favorite jeans from the 1990s and discarded couches. I repurpose found objects for my materials and allow their shapes and textures to form the parameters of each piece, such as wood blocks.

Wanted to post some of the photos from this year's shoot with Ziegler Dance Centre. This was our 6th year shooting with Ziegler, and as always, we captured so many beautiful images! It's always so great shooting with these hard-working, talented students. Again, our sincere thanks to Renee Ziegler for all of her help through the phases of the planning, scheduling, shooting/posing, ordering processes. She is simply tireless, and her inspired instruction, along with that of the other instructors at Ziegler, is the obvious reason for the ongoing success of this school. Here is a little information about Ziegler Dance Centre, for anyone who is unfamiliar with their establishment:
Ziegler Dance Centre located in Viking Village on Rt. 94 in McAfee, NJ has been teaching Sussex County to dance since 1990! The National Award Winning Studio is known for their versatile styles in dance. From Ballet to Hip Hop, Tap to Acrobatics and everything in between. ZDC teaches ages 1 1/2 through adult in all levels from Pre-school to Pre-Professional. ZDC's annual dance recital is like no other. It is a full musical with dancing, singing and acting. "Our Passion is your Joy."

Spadafina Photography will once again be handling the photography for Warwick Youth Basketball this season. We are shooting this Friday and Saturday, and we wanted to give all the kids and their parents a chance to check out the background the players will be photographed against this year, as well as a look at a new specialty item that we are offering this time around. Looking forward to a hectic but fun time!

Wanted to post a handful of the thousands of images from this year's shoot with Ziegler Dance Centre. This was our 3rd year shooting with Ziegler, and as usual, we got some beautiful results! It's always a pleasure spending some time with these hard-working students, and I'm constantly blown away by their talent and work ethic. Happy Holidays! I wanted to give a shout out to Spadafina Photography client Warwick Chocolate Company, and to tell you that there is still time to pick up some of the incredible treats they have to offer for your holiday celebration! Along with the white chocolate Christmas tree and the beautiful chocolate bomb featured here, there are dozens of other great choices, each one more delicious than the last. The Warwick Chocolate Company, at 16 Railroad Ave in Warwick, is gearing up for Valentine's Day! Owner Victor Gelman recently hired Spadafina Photography to capture these specially created heart-shaped versions of some of his handmade chocolates for the upcoming holiday. These unique, high gloss creations are as delicious as they are attractive! Make sure to stop by the shop to grab a box of them for your sweetheart!

Here are some images from last Thursday's opening night of Highland Stage's production of "Once And For All," a review of some of the most memorable numbers taken from past productions. This show celebrates the 20 years this wonderful organization has been in existence, and the kids knocked it out of the park, as usual!
