Some of my work as a photographer is in the news for the worst of reasons. A long time friend of mine was tragically taken from this earth on Tuesday. If you can, please donate towards her final arrangements, and for her two beautiful children who lost their mother.

I recently saw a thread that asked “what are some of your ‘I can’t believe I took that’ pictures?”

As a photographer, these are mine. But it makes me want to know what are some of yours?

Not your best looking photo, but a picture that brings you joy. A picture you have taken that never fails to spark an emotion within you. Whether it’s a selfie with your best friend, a picture of your kid doing something new, the last picture with a loved one, or a great view you saw during a night out. I want to see it all! And tell me the reason it brings you so much emotion.

The love, the scenery, the transformation, and the people are what make my work so satisfying. Find what you love, and you will find yourself. In this you can lose track of the chaos and focus in on what's important. Continue to pursue these things and you will never find your cup empty. 📸

The whole reason I began taking photos was to capture the beauty of a childhood that had no fear, no instability, and no insecurity. Working with her bold character isn’t always easy, but she helps me grow, as a person, as a mother, and a photographer.
➿➿➿
May we all learn from our children. May we also admire the beauty of who they are, and help them grow into the best version of themselves. I hope I get the honor to capture some of the brightest personalities and their traits through my craft.
