Let me set the scene..

I arrived to this shoot, hands full of things, bags on both shoulders, proceeded to fall going up the studio stairs, spilled my drink, skinned my actual knee, banged up my shoulder all before I got to the top of the studio stairwell.🤣🤣

But wait! I then put a little cherry on top by burning a hole in the studio floor mid session while changing one of my lights. 💥 jokeswritethemselves

This little dude though? He walked in ready for business! Nacho Lunchables secured, Zoolander face locked in, and he proceeded to rock his entire session like he’d been doing this for years. And he’s literally still in single digit birthdays 🤣

Nobody sees the chaos that sometimes happens behind the scenes(thank God for that). They just see the awesomeness that comes out on the other side.

Loving the mix of shoots that I’ve had the pleasure of doing these last few months😍💥🫶🏽

Congrats to each of these beauties as they head into the next chapter! Each of these colleges and universities are lucky to have each of you!

Every year I get to work with the most amazing senior and their families! Sure, the picture taking part of everything is obviously freaking amazing, but it’s awesome to get learn more about them, who they are, about their talents, & their passions.

Getting to work with the Murphy family this year was 10/10, no notes. Sophia’s Pride and Prejudice themed senior session will 100% be one of my favorites for years to come.

So getting to have them come back for decision day photos for not just Sophia, but her older sister, Lily, who’s headed off to the next part of her college experience was flipping awesome.

I have no doubt both of these ladies are going to be changemakers out there in this crazy world!! 🔥🔥🔥

There’s this phenomenon that exists when it comes to senior guys: if you have an older sister, who used Slice of Lime for her senior photos...the decision of who is going to be taking your senior photos has already been made, hahahahahaha.😋

And ya know, I’m not mad about it at all.

This was my third time working with the Eckerts. Some JCPenney style family portraits in 2024 gave Ethan a trial run for his senior pics being in front of my lens…80s wardrobe and all. Lucky for him, I have integrity and won’t be blowing up his spot by posting my favorite photo of him from that session in this carousel. (Think aviator glasses, layered gold chains, & the one button too many open on his heavily patterned shirt. ) 🤣

All jokes aside, I loved exploring the woods at Pine Grove State Park This location has so much variety and I dont get to shoot here nearly enough. It’s the perfect spot for a fall session.

Despite declaring that he was doing these pics for his mom within the first few minutes of his session…i know with 100 percent certainty he actually ended up having fun!!

February Photo Dump!

Listen. It’s March 5th and I’m still recovering from the absolute whirlwind that was February…while also low-key stressing that my last post was on FEBRUARY 14TH. 😅
But duuuude…February was equal parts “WTF is happening” and “holy s**t things are happening.”

I had 8 photoshoots. Yes…EIGHT.
Which is honestly unheard of for February.

Six of those were branding and creative headshot projects.

Most people know me for my work with seniors and teens, but for the last 7 years I’ve actually been shooting branding and headshots under the Source brand. Now that we’ve shifted Source to focus solely on rentals, I’m officially bringing that work under the Slice of Lime Photo umbrella.

You can follow those adventures over at

On one hand it’s amazing because I have seven years of work in that genre already.

On the other hand…AHHHH to the amount of backend work that comes with making that shift official. Website pages, pricing, contracts, all the things.

Feeling ridiculously grateful…while also a little overwhelmed. So if you’ve sent an inquiry in the last few weeks and haven’t heard back yet…hang tight. Replies are coming. 😬😣🫣

Complicating an already packed schedule was a whole mess of health flare-ups that honestly freaked me out a bit. Hands swelling. Wrists swelling. Shoulder and arm issues. Which, as you might imagine, is not ideal when your job involves holding a 📷 all day or being at your desk using those hands to edit!!

Still navigating that, making some changes, and hoping March includes fewer days where I’m stuck rotating between ice packs and heating pads trying to get my body to cooperate again.

And in the middle of all the chaos there was also a lot of really good stuff!!

Part 2 continued in the comments because this caption got out of hand. 👇🏽

Let’s bring some senior sesh 🔥🔥🔥🔥 to this ridiculously cold day…

Having Kylie on the Street Team this year has been a BLAST! Her energy, her humor, her wittiness, & her genuine excitement for being on the team has been such a bright spot in this last year!

Her whole shoot was amazing, but THIS last outfit at this location with that GLORIOUS was the little editorial vibe cherry on top to end our shoot together & and make us forget that we were shooting just a few feet away from a deer carcass without realizing it 🦌

01/23/2026

These are the faces I make days, weeks, months, after Street Team apps close & someone says “Wait… is it too late to apply for the Street Team???”

Don’t let that be YOU!! Apply now or emotionally spiral later.

Applications close on Sunday, January 25th.

Class of 2027, future you is begging you not to miss this. 💥

Why waste my time writing a caption when I have this love note saved in my phone from Miss Sophia, which she sent after she looked at her gallery for the first time…

“Hi Emil! …the first thing we did was look through the slideshow and I am immediately was in awe. You’ve dedicated so much to your craft and it shows, within those pictures, you captured, not only the vision I held, but who I am as a person. With each photo I clicked through I felt more and more “me” coming through it, it’s the prettiest I’ve ever seen myself because no part of who I am was hiding, you found a way to put it on display in the most beautiful way. I’ll probably look at these pictures another 20 times tonight, but I just wanted to say thank you so much. You made me feel so comfortable and so much like myself. You are so special and I appreciate what you do.”🥹😭🥹🥹😭🥹🥹😭

It is criminal that I cannot post more than just these 20 pictures because there’s two whole other outfits that were just as glorious…and even more from these two looks that are just JAW DROPPING.

is an artist, a writer, an activist, a vintage clothing lover & a Pride & Prejudice STAN. Loved taking her vision for her senior session & giving it life.

My class of 2027 booking calendar opens 2/15. Shoot me an email to get on the waiting list for your very own dream session… and if you want more than just a one and done senior session, Street Team applications are open till Sunday. LINK IN BIO to apply!

I swore I was done entering image contests.🫣

After winning Hot 100 awards multiple years, judging the contest, then coming back for a few more rounds… I hit burnout hard and genuinely thought that chapter was closed.

Fast forward to a week before this year’s deadline and I thought, okay, maybe ONE last time. If I could somehow earn a Legends award, I’d officially retire from entering. Not exactly an easy goal, so I didn’t expect much.

On announcement day, I was deep in work mode and completely missed that the list even dropped. Then I got a text from my girl that simply said, “Legennnnnnnnnd you are!” which made zero sense at the time.🤣🤦🏽‍♀️

A few hours later I finally went online and saw people posting their Hot 100 badges. Went over to check out the list of winners & realized I didn’t have one or two images place. I had ELEVEN. 😲😲😲😲 Eleven images earning me a Hot 100 Hall of Fame / Lifetime Legend award… and on top of that, one of the Community Choice Awards voted on by peers in the senior photography industry. 🥹🥹🥹🥹

I entered hoping. I walked away stunned. 😮

Anyone who knows me knows my why has always been about my clients; creating spaces where they feel seen, confident, and fully themselves. But being recognized by fellow photographers after a long stretch of burnout was a reminder I didn’t know I needed: I still got it. 💥

Endless gratitude to Shawna, Max, Valerie, and Vickie, and to every client who’s trusted me during the highs and the burnout seasons. Turns out I wasn’t as done as I thought.💕

Can’t wait to see which of my images won!!!
