The most common thing to hear from parents when we're planning a photo session is concerns that their child won't be cooperative or be able to stand still. I always tell them the same thing. We'll let the kids drive the direction of the session. When you give them the freedom to enjoy themselves, it leads to happier kids, less stressed parents, and photos that feel more like a memory. Isn't that ultimately our goal? To preserve these moments the way we remember them? I can promise you, if we let your kiddos be themselves, I'll get great photos and they'll leave our session feeling like they had a fun outing instead of an unwanted chore. I adored all the silliness we had at this late fall, orchard shoot and I'm glad the photos reflect it.

Here's your reminder that you don't need to wait until summer to get your family photos because dreamy, wintery beach photos are the cutest. Sidenote: why do they not sell snowsuits like this in adult sizes. I know y'all are just begging to see me in one.

When your best friend has her second baby and you get to live your moody newborn photoshoot dreams. Don't get me wrong, I love a bright, airy newborn shoot but there is something so raw and beautiful and intimate about letting those shadows do their thing on that sweet, soft infant face. But also this dang baby, holy smokes.

Okay listen, I know and you know that it isn't technically winter yet, but I can't deal with staring out my window at dead, wet leaves for another second so I'm jumping a few weeks ahead.

Anyway! I'm knocking a big ol' chunk off of most of my sessions to help me combat some of my off-season boredom. Need a last minute gift for an in-law? Did your significant other propose to you in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner? Do you ALSO need an injection of creativity during the one hour of daylight we get?

Applies to the total cost of the session but only a deposit is due for booking. We can schedule into next year if you're not ready for photos just yet!

Stayed up the entire night to take photos of the moon and learned three very important things.

1. I do not want to be an astrophotographer.

2. The moon is beautiful and amazing and it's very hard to get any photos of her that I haven't seen a thousand times already.

3. I'm still very much afraid of the dark.

There is this thing that happens between engagement sessions and weddings that I can't explain. We can take an absolutely perfect couple like Alex and Randi and just absolutely hit it out of the park with their engagement session. They just radiate this stunning, elegant energy and like how could you improve on that?

But then their wedding comes around and somehow, there is still this intense glow up that happened?! I feel so lucky that I just get to capture people in love for my JOB. I keep repeating myself and it's so cheesy and cliche but I just love love and I will never stop being obsessed and fawning over these beautiful people in a beautiful relationship.

I can be a bossy photographer. "Pick her up, put her down, get on his back, climb that tree, sit in a field, stand in a field, spin in a field." I'm so grateful that my clients trust me and are willing to go along with my ideas. Allie and Jon are so in love and into each other, it seems like even the weather and the environment was excited for them. I can't believe I have to wait a whole year for them to get married.

Easily the coldest, windiest session I've ever had but these two were SO cute and SO in love that I'd forget how freezing I was until my fingers stopped working. But in between bundle up breaks and squeezing the life out of hand warmers, it was all just love and happiness and warmth.

I love my job because I am obsessed with seeing the way people love each other. Whether it is familial, platonic, or romantic, the connections people make with each other carry so much weight and value and I will forever get emotional watching it. Natalie and Mitch have the kind of love that makes you smile even when you're not in on the joke. They love each other in a way that makes you wanna reach out to your own people and share that overflow of love. I literally cannot wait for these two to get married.
