The Professional Custom Portrait Studio of New Braunfels where Certified Professional Photographer, Michael J. Plumeyer, creates wonderful everlasting imagery of families today to be handed down to the generations to come. In October of 2005, Michael moved Plumeyer Photography to downtown New Braunfels where he flourished among the historic buildings and scenery. It was while he was located at the
Wright Building that he began to offer professional restoration services for damaged photographs. During his tenure in this location he won some of the highest awards with the Professional Photographers of San Antonio, including but not limited to: Best Portrait of an Individual (twice), Best Senior Album & Best Wedding Album. It was in the year of 2020, when all else was falling apart, the world was quarantined, and many photographers gave up their decades long profession in order to do something that would bring in money that Michael acquired the building that had been in his family since 1949. First, it was purchased by his paternal grandfather in 1949, who had it turned into a liquor store. Then, some years after his death, Michael’s Mother, whom everyone who has visited the studio in the 20 years she has worked with him knows, acquired it from her mother-in-law (Michael’s paternal grandmother) and her father (Michael’s Maternal Grandfather) did the renovation to turn it into her health food store that she ran for 8 years. After that, she leased it out until Michael acquired it in 2020. This location is where Michael moved the studio in late Summer of 2020, after a new floor was put in, a new coat of paint, and trips to different photographers to acquire their HS Senior Props did it open. Michael relocated his business, where has family and personal history (being there after school with his mother and during the summer was not fun as he wasn’t allowed to go to the bakery across the street) plus it is now his. He also rebranded to a new name, Studio Plumeyer, and he does “Weddings & Portraits” plus the occasionally photography workshop so you know how to take photos when you’re on vacation.
