Throwback Thursday to this very well camouflaged copperhead I found several years ago. It was laying right along side a very heavily used foot path, and I had already seen two groups of people walk past it without even knowing! Taken in southeastern North Carolina.

Welcome back y'all. As I do every year, yesterday was off of social media for me so I could remember buddies that have passed and reflect solely on why the day is celebrated. I hope everyone got to spend it with family and enjoyed the holiday. This week we are back with the always beautiful copperhead! I have been finding quite a few of them this year, and that makes for a very happy photographer! Taken in southeastern North Carolina.

Throwback Thursday to a couple of baby American alligators I found chilling in a shallow bend of a creek in southeastern North Carolina. This picture is a good example of how gators and crocs bodies are positioned when they are just floating (bottom gator) vs when they are swimming. When they are swimming their legs tuck back along their bodies and make them more streamlined.

People, let me tell you about my best friend! I often find numerous turtles in close proximity with American alligators. Especially little juveniles such as this approx. 3 footer. Several years down the road and these turtles might make for a fine meal. Taken in southeastern North Carolina.

1 little, 2 little, 3 little alligators. We have been experiencing quite the dry spell here in North Carolina, so water sources were few and a high commodity. It was not uncommon to see multiple gators sharing the deeper pools. In one pool alone I found 8 full grown adults and several smaller gators together! Taken in southeastern North Carolina.
