I am nearsighted. Like reallly nearsighted. I got glasses in 7th grade and the whole world looked suddenly clear, sharp and I was in awe.

The other day I was thinking about why close-up photos especially soft or even slightly out of focus ones feel so intimate to me.

I think maybe it’s because most of my intimate moments happen with my uncorrected eyes. Kissing my spouse. Feeding my baby in the middle of the night, it doesn’t have to be perfectly sharp to be beautiful.

I tell people all the time that there are sooo many good photographers in this area. Each one brings their own unique talents into the world and serves families in beautiful ways.

Your story already exists. We (photographers)are all just interpreters.

I interpret with my lens as a mother of 13 years, with a small baby in the mix. I notice things that are meaningful to me then and now, and I look to find that in your story.
