Happy Holidays everyone! I’ve been as busy as Santa’s little elves lately & haven’t had time to even think about sharing all of the wonderful families I’ve been photographing these last couple of months… so it’s about time I start to catch up 🙈

It was so nice to see Rachel & Jake’s family last month, and I was finally able to meet their adorable baby boy! I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again, but one of my favorite things about my job is getting to capture some of the big moments in my client’s lives! From their wedding day, to first baby portraits, to this… watching life change, and love growing & deepening through the years is absolutely magical 🥰

The Abbotts are such a beautiful bunch & I’m so honored to be a part of their lives in this small but significant way ❤️

Last week, I photographed my son’s senior portraits & today he turns 18, so it’s the perfect opportunity to share some of the images & shine light on this beautiful boy of mine.

Jared made me a mom at the ripe age of 21, so in a lot of ways, we raised each other. Jared came into this world with bright eyes, looking into them it was obvious he had a wise old soul. I held him in my arms for the first time with a deep knowing of how special he was. God whispered in my ear that he was destined for greatness.

My husband & I buckled down & tried our best to give him & our daughter, Faith, the kind of life we always dreamed of… it wasn’t always easy, but we made it work & grew through the challenges. Moved from Sonoma to Nevada City in 2011 & spent countless days adventuring through the mountains, swimming in the river & getting involved with our beautiful community.

Today, Jared is a straight-A AP/Honors student, soon heading off to college with a good head on his shoulders, a brilliant & balanced mind, a kind heart, a curious nature, an adventurous soul, and so many impressive talents to share with the world. I’m so proud of him, and grateful to be his mother. I have all the confidence in the world that he will do amazing things in his life & for others.

All weddings are beautiful & sentimental, but the vows spoken between Olivia & Leif when they eloped on 10/18 quite literally brought me to my knees. In that moment, I felt the depth of their beautiful relationship in a way words cannot often convey… somehow, they were able to articulate the magical, transformative powers of love in the most intimate & genuine sense. With chills & tears in my eyes, I found myself thinking about my own love story & how grateful I am to walk this life with my soulmate. I also wished I could record & listen to that moment over & over again. They clearly understand what it means to commit & grow with your chosen person through the highs, the lows, and everything in between. THESE are the most important & memorable parts of a wedding ceremony and the reason I still love capturing these stories after 15+ years as a photographer. The decorations & details are nice… but what truly matters isn’t what is obviously seen, it’s what is felt with the heart.

This incredible young man is my friend’s son, and not only is he handsome & intelligent, but he truly has a heart of gold. Although Zion’s currently finishing high school, he just began an internship at the hospital because he’s interested in going to nursing school to become a flight nurse! Aiming high, this one! I had so much fun capturing his senior portraits, and really think he should add modeling to the list of life goals, although his mama would rather keep him humble 😂

Zion, I hope your senior year is awesome! Keep it up, and as Mrs. Rhoden would say, goooo Miners!

Maxine & Brandon got married this past weekend, and their wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect. Even though the forecast predicted showers & possible lightning storms, the universe was on our side… light showers came after the ceremony & before golden hour portraits, so nothing needed to be moved indoors and it truly came together like a dream.

The scenery throughout the day felt like a movie set & every moment was picturesque. Personal touches (like a pull-up bar during cocktail hour, because the couple met at CrossFit & still workout there together) made the day unique & super fun! The bride’s dad even played a song he wrote for the couple at the end of the night, and it was a huge hit. I’m grateful to have been a part of such a wonderful event with such sweet company as Maxine, Brandon, their puppy Prince & all of their fab guests! It was a day to remember 🥰
