This set of photos share one single common denominator. They were all taken on the Tamron 28-200mm within the last year.

For years, my camera bag was missing a mid-range lens. I have a super wide and telephoto but nothing to cover the in between. I didn’t realize how many creative moments I was missing. I’ll never go back to being mid-range-less again! 😆

Late summertime wildflowers are hard to beat in the high altitudes. 💐

Here’s a poem I wrote for the cover photo I took… ✍️

———————

“It’s never too late
to answer THAT call.
You’re never too early
to win, lose or fall.

Entitled to life,
and all of its glory.
A worthy lone flower,
that roots for your story.

One that’s untold.
It’s love and shared bliss.
It’s important you know,
you’ll be my last kiss.”

A rare winter SUNRISE burn on the PNW coast with this old shipwreck. 🔥🔥🔥

Scroll to the end to see all the photos on the back of my camera. 📷

Here’s a poem I wrote for this shipwreck ✍️….

——————————

“A resting place
where I’ve lost my way.
A wreck
that’s seen a sunnier day.

A sailor who relies
on the twinkles of night.
An ocean, a tide,
a hope that I might...

Rest my anchor
in a place that feels right.
Forever a sailor
that disappeared in the night”.

All new photos I’ve been hoarding on my camera roll and selfishly not sharing. National Photography Day was yesterday so here’s my official celebratory post for a medium I am absolutely am in love with 👉🏼 Photography 📷

Here’s a poem I wrote to accompany this set…

“We cope and we flail.
We rage while we bail.
Avoiding the unfiltered.
We divide like a rail.

Distracted and eluded.
The truth’s convoluted.
Made to feel powerless,
corrupted and polluted.

Our voices are loud.
It’s them vs a crowd.
Uniting our voices
To make future selves proud.”

I’ve been following with horror from afar as the bulldozers plowed through the National Park of Big Bend in Tx this past month.

I’m happy to report a win today! The bulldozing has been paused due to such a huge outreach from the public and elected officials.

The fight is not over but I’m elated to hear about this pause. Let’s keep this energy going and protect this beautiful land and dark sky! 💫✊🏼

Here’s a collection of photos taken over the years from that area as well as a fitting poem I wrote for this cover photo 5 years ago…

————-

“Acceptance to roam.
To roam with intent.
Free to just flow.
Free to invent.

Free to knock down
a wall that’s been placed.
Free is the smile
on your pretty little face.

Free is the edge
that harnessed this view.
Free are the feels,
a gift just for you.”

Trees are fun to photograph in pretty places 🤤

Here’s a poem I wrote for this cover image ✍️…

“Nicked by a needle
with a thread that’s been lost.
Uncertain, alone,
in the late autumn frost.

Each paddle a struggle.
Each stroke a small win.
The essence of man
isn’t carried by sin.

Weighted by rage,
gripped by the past.
Grounded by nature
on a lake that’s been glassed.”

It’s the South Oregon Coast that seems to always drop my jaw. I spent a couple nights out at this spot a few weeks ago catching some Milky Way, fog and a little bioluminescence.

Can you relate to this poem I just wrote for the cover photo?…

“It’s comfort on days
that challenge our will.
The cold, gritty earth.
It moves but stays still.

She rotates in seasons.
Predictably random.
She’s always in shadow.
Her creator, a phantom.

My mind spins on tilt.
Polarized by truth.
Equipped with emotions
I’ve buried since youth.

Cradle, resurrect.
Endorce the bright night.
In our thoughts we see darkness.
While others see our light.”
