CALLOUSED
Morning and Shalom !!
Sitting in a quiet house and reflecting on my life something came to me again that I've heard and known most of my life.
When a pain is still present yet you either no longer feel it or it is diminished in it's effect.
You have become calloused to it. It doesn't bother you as it once did. Sin has it's way of becoming this way. Which is very dangerous in a life of a believer. It can signal that your getting worse or better , just look at your actions you can tell which. A calloused heart knows no fear or consequence of sin , that kind of heart blindly goes where it shouldn't. And rarely looks at the pain it is causing to itself.
Think if you could no longer feel pain in one hand . Wow the things you could do with such a hand. But also the destruction of that hand would be certain because it can't feel .
Doctors say that the Harding of the heart will cause death . So to will it cause spiritual death if you're spiritual heart is hardened.
We are instructed to keep our hearts pliable and soft able to be molded by the Father and His Holy Spirit. Satan uses calluses to lesson the effect God has on you and make it harder for us to hear that small still voice of instruction . Untill we can't hear it anymore and we become unfeeling towards sin. So many times we will do something we know isn't right yet we say ( it will be ok ) . Not realizing we just placed another small callous on us . All these add up to what the Jesus calls a stony heart. Hard as a stone . Unable to be reached and unfeeling. There is also a thorny heart which is prickly and hurtful to people around them. Both hearts are unusable to the Holy Spirit untill repentance is made.
Ezekiel 36:26
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
In closing:
Let each of us reflect inwardly and see what kind of heart you are carrying. Place it against the Bible and see if it is Stony or soft as flesh . If it is hardened repent and turn to the Father's love and he will replace it for you. Allow God's love to course through your veins and give you new life. And you will feel again . I pray you will do this regularly so you can maintain a healthy Relationship with the Father.
