In Nebraska, the highway isn’t the only way… it’s just the fastest way. 🌾🚗
There’s always that one friend who skips I-80 like it personally offended them—
choosing backroads where:
• every passing truck gets a wave 👋
• the sky takes up more space than the road ☁️
• a windmill spins like it’s keeping time for the whole state 🌬️
• and a town of 300 somehow has the best pie you’ve ever had 🥧

You won’t rush.
You won’t stress.
You might be a little late…

But out here, the point isn’t getting there fast—
it’s enjoying every mile that got you there. 🌅

More rain and storms over night in our little community of Neoga, IA. It came down hard for a while. Almost another 3/4" of water in the rain gauge. Lots of lightning and thunder.

Right in the middle of 0230 storm Dixie Dog decided that she "really" needed to go potty. 5 minutes later she came back in soaking wet. Jayna opened the door. D-Dog came in. Jayna's jammies got soakin' wet from the "shake off." :) That made me realize how close I was to disaster. I could have been the one opening the patio door.😁

That made for a damp farm. I guess the mowing will have to wait.

Nebraska looked at AI data centers and said:
“Hold up… y’all realize those things use actual electricity, right?” 🌽⚡😂

Somewhere in Lincoln, a group of officials saw the power bill projections and immediately hit the brakes harder than a farmer spotting a deer on a back road at midnight.

Meanwhile the rest of the country is racing to build giant server farms…
and Nebraska is over here like:
“Maybe let’s not turn the whole state into one giant space heater.”

Cornfields 🤝 common sense.

Honestly, Nebraska keeping its priorities straight:
✔️ Agriculture
✔️ Small towns
✔️ Friday night football
❌ The robots taking over 400 acres

The AI probably could’ve survived anywhere…
but it was never prepared for Nebraska practicality. 😭

The land has been in the family for decades — wide-open plains, grain silos, red barns, and rolling fields that helped feed America long before corporations started looking at farmland as the next big investment.

Instead of cashing out, the family chose to keep the farm alive for future generations.

Because in Nebraska…
land is more than property.
It’s legacy.
It’s sunrise over cornfields.
It’s hard work during harvest season.
It’s small towns, county roads, and generations of people who built their lives from the soil. 🚜🌾

As development spreads across the country, stories like this remind people that not every acre is meant to become warehouses, servers, or subdivisions.

Some land is meant to stay farmland.

“It was built to feed people — and that still matters.”

And honestly…
a lot of Nebraskans probably respect that decision more than anything. ❤️

Bonus points if the population is smaller than a Friday night football crowd. 🛻🌅
