I won't love you softly. No, not softly at all. I want to carve my name into your soul. I want to leave a craving no one else can satisfy. - unknown.

A dark and rainy night for a dark and moody wedding at . An absolute dream of a dream with two people who love fully, completely, passionately. A love that pushes and pulls, that challenges and grows. A love that doesn't settle, it makes you FEEL something.

This is what I mean when I say a vision changes everything. And commitment to that vision even more so. If you get married in a dark moody castle, be dark and moody. Be willing to touch, to yearn, to be in the moment. Be breathless. Be overcome. I loved every moment of photographing these two, because they GOT IT. I'll say it til I'm blue in the face - but my people always find me. And when they do, magic happens. So honored to have been there to witness this evening unfold. So in love with these two and their love ♡

What a PARTYYYYY at for Mandy & Matt this weekend!

My brain is still spinning with all the colors and all the lights and all the music - it was a perfect evening under the stars ✨️

Mandy & Matt first locked eyes at the Fillmore, and I LOVE that they held their wedding here. It was such a different vibe, and we got to approach their day completely differently from our norm. Embracing color and light that we normally never get to play with - flash, drama, all the things. It was SO fun and challenging and an absolute blast to dream up everything this day could be, and see it through to fruition.

But more than any of that - we got to witness a love story nearly a decade in the making. One thing I love about these two is that they never stopped pursuing their passions while still pursuing each other. They run businesses, make music, party harder than anyone I know - and raise a family, love each other well, and build a life that is SO full. And if you know me, you know music is one of my deeper love stories as I love the way music moves through us and carries us away. A wedding centered entirely around a good beat and a good party was exactly what my heart needed.

A night I'll never forget ☀️🌙✨️

A deeply moody and emotional affair with Isabella & Dean at one of my favs .country.inn ♡

I think a lot about love. In this job you kind of have to. I think a lot about what it feels like to be in a bubble where the world just makes sense because "they" exist. You know the one. Without them, life feels a little untethered. A little less bright. With them? Sun.

I know it seems obvious, but being in love is one of life's greatest gifts. And if you know that in a deep place, a transformative place, it changes you. Love is a fluid thing that moves you, moves through you. It rewrites your code and DNA into a new person - one that moves heaven and earth to make your partner laugh, or to be next to them in times of sorrow. It's a magnetic force that calls you to them when you're apart, like a piece of you aches for your missing piece. It becomes a core piece of who you are, and who you'll grow to be .

Isabella and Dean love each other to their cores. They compliment each other in a way that's hard to express, but is deeply known to those in love. They are immeasurably tied and tethered, always reaching for the line that calls them home. And what a thing it is to witness, and to know love through them. What a thing it is to know.

What a day, what a time, what a place. What a party!

It rained. We liked it.

I say it every year, and every year I mean it - I work with the most amazing people. The clients I hop on phone calls with feel more and more aligned. I remember feeling so at ease talking to Ashley and knowing that her vision was SO in line with what I love to do. It felt like kismet. Meeting her and Bill yesterday solidified that. The right people will always find a way to me.

The people I work with embrace the unknown. They trust. They play. They laugh at themselves. They aren't afraid to try. They bake banana muffins and bring me some 🥹 They take nothing too seriously. They just want to get married. The details are important, they matter. But at the end of the day they're still just things. People matter, and moments matter. Being in love in this moment, at this time and place - it means something. It's everything. And the couples that understand that have a special place in my heart.

When we find each other, beautiful things happen ✨️

In honor of me jetsetting off to Switzerland 🇨🇭 this evening, here's some random photos from past adventures!

Maybe it makes me a basic biddy considering I've barely seen my own back yard and have SO much of the world yet to see, but all my favorite stories live in Europe ✨️ so it'll always be my favorite place to visit. I can't wait to explore a new land and make memories in this glorious place!!

This is my oldest son's first trip outside of the US and my heart is bursting at the thought of spending this time with him. This is his last year of "childhood" and I'm trying to soak up every second I can 🥹

I'll still be reachable and working and delivering things here and there (ready to edit on this plane baby 😆) but response times may be a little slower! Can't wait to share our adventures with you!!

Welcome to my new series of "random favorite black and whites" from my wedding galleries this year ♡ I love the simplicity and impact of every moment.

I think deeper than most about impact and energy in a photo. What makes it compelling. Sometimes it's obvious, like gorgeous details in a gorgeous location kind of obvious. Sometimes it's less obvious, like a random touch or the shape of a dress when you move. There's no way to really describe what makes a photo striking, it just is or it isn't. So when I choose black and white for an edit, it's usually because something about that photo demanded to be stripped away of all distraction and just listened to - for whatever reason that may be. Maybe a statement pose that I find dynamic, or a beautiful emotion that I want to hone in on. I saw something there that I want you to see too.

Either way, black and white in my world means something. Something real, real good ♡

I've gone back and forth on how to "present" these images to you. My mind and heart are swirling with a million emotions. But I'm nothing if not a heart first girl, so here's me sharing my heart with you.

I like to think I surround myself with dreamers. My friends are all, in many ways, very different from me. But we all dive head first into a fantasy. A good book, a dream trip, a song that makes us cry. We feel things, we see things a little differently than most. Sydney is no different ♡

If you know her, she's always behind the scenes making sure every detail is perfect. She's a doer, often designing and creating and making things real. In my world, she's been the hands and feet that makes my ideas flourish. She gets it DONE. Without her, half of the creative shoots in my portfolio would not exist. Without her, I'd never have created some of my favorite work.

I've told her a thousand times she should model. Those cheekbones! That jawline! She always gently laughed at the idea, humble as they come. But I knew - one day we'd find the perfect idea for her. It just so happens that this was the one ✨️

She created this set. I thought of the idea, but she built the textured stands. She painted the backdrop. She draped the fabric. She also designed and set the table, sourced the materials, drilled holes in books 😆 And then, she modeled. DID SHE EVER MODEL. She stood there in her creation, my dream world, and she made it breathe. It makes me a little weepy because THIS is my world. These are the people that fill it. How lucky am I to know such talented and creative humans that not only make beauty out of the simplest materials, but make it all feel alive. I could not be more excited by what we created. I could not be prouder of Syd 🥹

A night in my studio, a place I've been in a million times before. Transformed by Sydney in every sense of the word. When two dreamers collide, magic happens ♡

It had to be youuuu ♡ A perfect little Philadelphia engagement session with Paige & Shawn.

Engagement session season is in full swing over here and I missed it more than I knew. Meeting my couples before the wedding day will always be SO so important to me. Sometimes more than the vibes of the session itself, I love learning the way your brain works. Hearing the way you express ideas and how you picture yourself and your partner before I ever even meet you is honestly so fun for me. Sometimes the way people describe themselves is spot on, and sometimes I get an entirely new picture of you meeting in person! I'm a people watcher by nature and I think that's a hidden talent in photography. Not just noticing how you both look together, but how you actually fit together. How you play and interact. And how you see yourself as a couple. Blending it all together in a gallery is truly an art form ✨️

Paige & Shawn see themselves as goofy and fun loving, but still very much a yin and yang. I love that we got to explore a little piece of the city they call home together, and can't wait to make more magic with them again on their wedding day ♡

A collection of some favorite black and whites from this stunning day at ♡♡

I know everyone loves a good black and white. I think I gravitate towards it more because of a seemingly unrelated quote I heard in a photography lecture, maybe 7, 8 years ago?

"There are more ways to show love than a kiss."

At the time, that quote punched me in the gut. Because yes, kissing is an obvious form of love, but it's not the only way to show it. And I've spent much of my career seeking other ways to show love that doesn't onlyyyy rely on touched lips. I'm no stranger to romance but I've found SO much of myself in strong emotions and smart storytelling. Little moments where you do so little but still look so powerful. I love the challenge of that.

It's the same thought process with black and white. Color can show so many things, can convey so many emotions. I love color! I love how bold it can feel. But I love the quiet that black and white brings to a moment. There are more ways to show emotion than to rely on the action itself. Show movement or a strong pose or a deeply felt feeling devoid of any distraction but that moment. Black and white streamlines it all into exactly what you want the viewer to take in. Her. Him. Them. This is how it felt to be with them.

There are more ways to show love than a kiss. There are more ways to be impactful than to fill a frame with color. Sometimes the simplest moments deserve their time to shine ✨️

Today felt like as good a day as any to talk about the obvious -

Photography isn't always the most natural thing in the world. But it sure as hell doesn't have to be the most complicated.

Simple things like making sure you're facing towards the camera may seem like a DUH kind of tip, but trust me, I've photographed a lot of backs in my day 😅

And your emotions? They're written alllll over your face. All day long. Don't overthink it, just experience. The more you let yourself live, the less you'll think about the camera.

Remember that you're a part of the process. Your ideas matter and so does your vision. But trust your team, ok? Let their expertise guide you. Let your emotions take over and enjoy the ride. You'll never get to experience this day again. Make the most of it ♡
