Just a casual after dinner stroll through Cannon Beach in Oregon 🥹

It's funny - while I was here, I thought about 2017? 2018? Jess and how her whole photography experience was wrapped up in the dream of traveling. If you were shooting back then, you know Oregon was one of THE places to be. Shooting there was the definition of "making it." I pined after the photos I'd see of foggy mountains and golden coastlines. I hoped one day I'd get my chance...

Nearly a decade later, I did make it. But it wasn't anything like I dreamed about back then. It was my brother in law and new sister in law, just 3 days past their incredible wedding day. My 6 year old running around getting in the way of most of my shots 🤣 but laughing about it anyway. My moody teenager sitting in the sand taking photos to send to her friends. It was my husband close to me. It was my life. Every dream and decision that built upon itself to bring me to the exact place I was meant to be, right when I was supposed to be there. Not in 2017 when I thought the definition of "success" was a singular place or any one opportunity. But right here and now when my understanding of what makes this job "worth it" has always been the people. It has always been about them and the places they call home ♡

I'm so thankful we got to steal away and spend this time away in Oregon celebrating Chad & Bianca. It was beautiful for all the best reasons - because we got to experience it together ♡

I ask in my final questionnaire for 3 words my couples would use to describe their wedding vibe or overall atmosphere of their day. For Isabel & Gerardo, it was simple. PHILLY NIGHT OUT.

A Philly wedding that started at a hotel, wound up in the museum gardens, made its way to a glorious church, and ended with the party of all parties at . We had a BLAST hanging out with this crew, eating some of the best wedding food we've ever tasted, and laughing through all the joy and chaos of their wedding day. Most of all, we just loved watching these two melt into each other. They were never far from one another the whole day, always smiling, laughing, or wrapping their arms around each other during a quiet moment. Honestly, it's how a wedding should be. A massive party with your very best friends, holding the one you love against you all along the way ♡

Hey look, it's your friendly neighborhood wedding photographer! 😘

We aren't going to discuss how long it's been since I've stepped in front of a camera, all the insecurities that come flooding back (no I'm not immune), and all the craziness of this past year.

What we ARE going to talk about is who I am and have always been.

As a photographer, as a HUMAN, I am someone who sees. Someone who listens. I am someone who thinks intricately about the details, logistics, and outcomes. I anticipate because I read energies like most read books - in great detail and with extreme reverence for the plot. I want to know what makes you tick because I am genuinely interested in YOU. I've been people watching since I was a youngin, and I love analyzing the way we relate to one another.

More than any of that though, is that I am someone who feeeeels. Man do I ever feel. Not one to avoid hard convos, I've learned that sharing the truth in love is one of life's greatest gifts. I became a mom & a wife before I turned 20, which meant I accidentally set myself aside for many moons before I realized I could indeed pursue my passions AND have the family I always dreamed of. I have an incredible appreciation for LOVE in all its complex and diverse forms. And shooting weddings means I am forever in pursuit of what that looks like through a lens.

I am multifaceted in that I love romance, whimsy, & drama, history, books, and every genre of music imaginable. I get out my angst through heavy metal, so you're hearing one of my current favs on this post 😁 True crime docs are my favorite stories to dive into, and I am an adventure lover through and through.

I am based in alllll of Pennsylvania - I live in the Poconos, have a studio in the Lehigh Valley, and work mostly in Philly 😅 and I also frequent New York and New Jersey as part of my regular rotation! But destination weddings are a HUGE part of me. Can't find me at home? Look for me somewhere in Europe ✨️

My business birthday is (fatefully) the 21st of Sept - and I just passed 12 years of being a business owner. 12 years of chasing my dreams. Watching your stories unfold. Thank you. For all of it. I will always love this job ♡

A Sicilian love story with Jenna & Mike ♡

I didn't even know where to begin, but we had to start somewhere 😍

Imagine flying halfway across the world to intimately marry the love of your life, get dressed slowly and dramatically along the way, take gorgeous pictures with each other without a care in the world, and then party the night away together in Italian restaurants and villas until the sun comes up.

Now imagine brining us along for the ride ♡

Mike & Jenna did things exactly the way they wanted to, with zero apologies and indulging in every moment. We had the most AMAZING time creating with them and getting excited and inspired alongside them. Rich turned to me halfway through and said "this is exactly what I picture for us when we do this again." (He said when folks, not if! 👀😆) And honestly? Could not agree more. It was a beautiful, sexy, FUN celebration of love - and my GOD am I glad we got to be there for it. Sicily showed up for us, and we soaked in every single second we could.

Get ready to be sick of us because there's so much more to come!

It's Italy week! And I can't think of Italy without diving into the black and white world of Ben & Sierra's day on the Amalfi Coast ♡ It rained most of the day and yet the mood and depth it provided had nothing on the depth of emotion felt by all who attended. When I think of what a destination wedding should feel like...I think of this one. Details are important and they matter, but people who cross an ocean to celebrate your love - they are everything ♥️

I can't wait to dive into a new Italian love story at the end of the week! Much to accomplish before take off ✨️

Mary Claire & Scott Michael at Huntington Valley Country Club ♡ A dream of a day if there ever was one.

I often think about the factors that make a wedding day feel like a little something more...something outside of the expected or just something that sticks with you on a deeper level. It's hard to describe because every wedding is SO different. It's hard to narrow in on a specific feeling, a specific moment. How do you sum up a day? A feeling? A memory?

For this one, I'll always remember Mary Claire talking about being "too" expressive - that she had seen a bunch of social media posts about watching your face throughout the day so it doesn't reflect in photos. But she said she decided she didn't care. And I think that level of confidence perfectly sums up MC & S. They didn't worry about a thing, they enjoyed every moment. Every loud, rambunctious, chaotic, quiet, peaceful moment. And my God, if I can impress anything on you as a photographer who's shot tons and tons of weddings - that passes the vibe check and then some. Yes we want you to look your best. Yes the details matter and need to be taken seriously. But if you're not living in a moment, you're missing it. You just are. And if you don't take time to look around in wonder at all the people and places and things that your love brought together on this day? Well, you might be missing the point entirely.

These two? Didn't miss a thing. And we love them for it ♡

A rainy Sunday wedding in the lushness of ♡

Here's three major takeaways from a rainy day wedding that you need to know :

First - love your venue inside and out. The "out" isn't always an option. The "in" needs to be able to carry your vision on its own. This one exceeded all expectations ♡

Second - hire a vendor team you TRUST. Know that they hold the key to making your day come alive. Choose them because you trust their knowledge and expertise to carry you through, no matter what comes our way. I'll never forget .the.bride crawling around discreetly on the floor to prepare the bubble cannons after the first kiss 🤣 But seriously, a vendor team that's ready to do what it takes regardless of plan A, B, or C falling through - invaluable.

And third? Embrace it ♡ Allison ran around barefoot in the wet grass, let the rain catch in her veil, her dress, all of it. You know why? Because it was her wedding day. And at the end of the day, the "things" don't matter. Your love does. And both Allison and Jordan proved that tenfold.

The sun shone in all the right places ♡

We met for a family session just as the clouds took over, but stayed behind for about 20 minutes of couples portraits. If we can make all this magic in that amount of time, imagine what we could do in an hour or two 😉🤭
