I may have found a new favorite kind of event to add to weddings.

I shot my first Bar Mitzvah this weekend, and I’m still thinking it.

The amount of work these young people put into learning Hebrew, studying scripture, and preparing for the ceremony gave me a much deeper appreciation for the tradition.

Then the ceremony ends, and the party starts.

The dance floor rivaled just about any wedding reception I’ve photographed; amazing. Thanks Megan and family for having me.

Some weddings are remembered for perfect weather.

Others are remembered for the people who showed up when the weather had other plans.

Leah and Charlie's wedding was also the very first wedding at Further Farms, the venue they built together. The rain brought a little chaos, but it also brought out something special. Family and friends moved chairs, changed plans, and did whatever needed to be done.

Here's a small preview from a day filled with laughter, happy tears, a little rain, and a lot of love.
