Asa Menlove’s (Asa Menlove 𓆟) self-titled studio debut LP is out today on the bigger part of this project, PANCAKE TEST HOUSE, an independent record label. Go listen to this damn good album, right now.

We filmed a collection of videos along the road last October and this summer, of songs off this new album, and are slowly rolling them out. To celebrate this release, the official performance video of, “High Mountain Kind” is live on Asa’s YouTube or at the link in our bio.

I met AC a couple years ago Sawtooth Valley Gathering, while admiring her collection of jewelry that she was selling. Each year since, we’ve talked about filming some of her songs.

Was really happy when we were able to find this beautiful spot next to a hot springs up there, to record this. The sounds of the river that she sits over, and the birds singing with her is pretty sweet.

I arrived to the city with a lot of day dreaming about the bluegrass around. I made the connection to Megan ☼☽ and the rest of The Cody Sisters through my friend ☼ Ivy Mae ☼. Ended up seein’ them most Mondays at monasbluegrass, and one of my last days there we filmed this. A group of real talented and kind friends, enjoy!
