Coming back from a mission trip and looking at these photos feels like returning to a special place. It was only about a month ago that Joseph and Joelee got married, but when I look at these pictures it feels so much longer. They are a timeless couple. I usually hold my emotions deep inside when I shoot a wedding. I try to be present with the light and composition and reflect on the entire day later. A holistic practice of sorts. This wedding captured every part of me. Maybe it’s because the couple are deep deep friends. Maybe it was the beauty of East Tennessee pulling me in. Or maybe simply it was the sacred space blessed by their love for eachother. Their goodness. And their unwavering love for God.

About 10 days ago I had the privilege of driving down to middle Tennessee (we live in coastal Virginia now) to shoot the Wagner’s sweet sweet wedding. Madison and Ryan’s wedding was a heck of a time. Beautiful, playful, classy, and exciting. The weather was perfect, the venue was beautiful (), and their love for eachother was so easily seen.

Madison and Ryan, thank you for choosing me as your photographer. It was an honor and a joy. Wishing and praying that your days together just keep getting better😊

Took these sweet photos a while ago. It was a spring day and the ground was still muddy from the rain that didn’t seem to stop coming. Laramie and I played disc golf before coming to the Sweet Solomon’s house to do a mini shoot. Our shoes were muddy and I swung my camera over my hip and we walked up to their front step. They immediately welcomed us in and like so many times before didn’t care what we brought into their sweet home- sometimes sadness and grief, sometimes levity and fun, and today mud. We took their pictures in their yard next to the garden Jalyn worked so hard on.

We love the Solomon’s. They have been our friends for years. And their home has always been a place of safety and sweet warm hospitality.

Such a special engagement shoot for me. Cheyenne is my sister in love and lives in Washington DC. When my husband and I went up to visit her and her fiancé, Andrew, we snuck in a little walk around the National Mall to take their photos. And it was perfect. It was my first time seeing all the national monuments in person and seeing them as the backdrop to a old soul couple in love made it all the sweeter. And all the more powerful.

Cheyenne, I’m so proud to be able to call you my big sister and Andrew, welcome to the family!!! I can’t wait to celebrate with y’all this September🖤
