Hi 👋 Going into my third year in business, I figured it was finally time to introduce the girl behind the camera.

My name is Anna Kate, but AK felt easier and that’s how AK Craig Photography was born.

I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember. I was always carrying a camera, documenting friends, family, everyday life. In high school it became my biggest hobby and I spent hours in the darkroom developing film.

One of my favorite memories is being 17 and dragging my friend Emma down to Broadway because I had a vision for a photo. I was deep in my cowgirl boot series era (long before boots were cool again). I wanted her pretending to play guitar in a h***y tonk while I photographed her boots… so we walked into a bar and asked if she could fake play while I took pictures. In true 2007 fashion, they said yes.

I married my college sweetheart and we’ve been married almost eleven years. We have three daughters — Presley, Hayes and Eden. Our journey to becoming parents included infertility and losses, which makes motherhood even more sacred to me.

In June of 2023 I experienced Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which caused nerve damage, hearing and vision loss, Bell’s palsy and over two years of constant dizziness. After a lot of therapy I finally feel almost completely healed.

Just a few months after my illness, when I wasn’t even driving yet I decided to start to turn my love of photography into a business. My husband drove me to my first sessions when I wasn’t even able to drive yet. And chances are, if you’ve been in front of my camera the past two years, I was probably spinning a little while taking your photos.

When I’m not photographing families, you’ll find me on a sports field cheering on our girls, outside with friends, or on the couch with my husband enjoying coffee or margaritas and burgers for date night.

I love babies, kids, connection and love. I feel so honored to document it.

Being welcomed into your sacred space and trusted with the moments you hold dearest is the greatest honor. Capturing the memories that will become part of your family’s story is why I do this. Will always remember spending time with this sweet family less than 24 hours after they got power back from the ice storm of the century.

These images aren’t what I usually share here.
My business lives in family sessions, milestones, and memories and I love that deeply. But the heart of why I picked up a camera in the first place was art. Light, emotion, quiet moments, movement, story.

This year, I want to make space for that side of my work again. To share not just what I do, but why I do it. Can’t wait for all the art to create in 2026!

Busy season is wild, sometimes (most the time) sessions get edited, delivered, loved… and never posted.

This one deserved more time because it holds everything I aim for in a newborn session: the real, the raw, the joy, the snuggles, and a few bribes to keep things moving.
