I used to think we outgrew the magic of life, the wonder.
I thought that was just kid stuff and one day you have to grow up.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
…then I had kids and I saw the magic again.
It was in their eyes, looking at the world with wonder.
It was in their chubby little hands, grasping for anything and everything in curiosity.
It was in their perfect little feet, hitting the floor each morning in search of a new adventure.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you look at life through a child’s eyes it’s still there.
I think the magic will always be there for those who choose to see it…✨

SUMMER BREAK IS OFFICIALLY IN FULL SWING!

Which means, i'm officially wearing both hats...

Here's to simultaneously chasing these kids
& warm summer sunsets with all of you... ☀️

As a mom, in the throes of motherhood,
It’s heartbreaking to think that one day
the house will be quiet.

There won’t be anymore bottles that need washing, burp cloths on hand or little baby blankets hung over the furniture in every room.
There won’t be diaper bags to fill or car seats to clean.
No more strollers to push.
No more diapers to change.
No more board books.
No more baby proofing or all the little signs around the house that say “a baby definitely lives here”.

…and one day, there will be no crayons in-between the couch cushions
or toys strewn across the house.
There won’t be crumb trails through the living room
and there won’t be drawing hidden on the baseboards of the bedrooms.
No stickers on the doors.
No socks in the middle of the floor.
No shoes piled by the door.
No backpacks to clean out, no lunchboxes to fill, no folders to sign or schedules to keep up with.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE watching them grow & flourish.
I can only imagine the pride & joy of seeing them take flight as adults one day.
…but yet, I know that when I get home & close the door behind me, that silence?
It’ll be deafening.

I know this stage of life, the one with my babies still home with me, is going to be the one that I always miss the most.

A silly little thing about me…
I love a good tree.

And this family?
They had one of the best ones
right in the middle of their backyard.

I could already picture it…
the shade it would offer on hot summer days,
a quiet kind of covering.
Blankets spread out for picnics,
toys scattered through the grass,
little feet learning to run beneath its branches.

Maybe one day, a tire swing will hang from it.
Afternoons spent pushing their babies…
and maybe, years from now,
their grandbabies too.

It might be this tree they think of
when they look back on their first home
where they brought their babies home.

And it felt so fitting
to take their first family photos here...
in a place already so rooted
in the life they’re building,
and the memories just beginning to grow.

I love seeing more small businesses,
more women chasing their dreams
and creating a life for themselves.

Following their passions and setting an example for every little girl out there...
telling them it’s possible.
"You can do it!"

…and these women,
these trend-setting,
glass-ceiling shattering women...
they deserve content that feels just as intentional as the lives they’re building.

Not stiff. Not forced.
But real. Honest. Fully them.

Because what they’re creating isn’t just a business...
it’s a legacy in motion.
It’s late nights, brave steps, quiet prayers, and bold decisions.
It’s something their own children will one day look at and say,
“she built that.”

I had the MOST fun with this beautiful lady,
creating content that felt genuine to her
the kind that doesn’t just market her brand,
but shows the heart & soul that goes into it.

There’s something sacred about getting everyone in the frame.

Not just the posed smiles, but the in-between...
the way grandma reaches for a little hand without thinking,
the way grandpa watches from just behind,
the laughter that spills out when no one’s being told to “say cheese.”

Extended family sessions aren’t just photos.
They’re pieces of time, held still for a moment.

They become the frames lined down your hallway...
the ones little hands will trace as they grow,
learning the faces, the love, the legacy they belong to.

One day, these images will be more than memories.
They’ll be proof.

Proof of the way they were loved.
The way their grandparents looked at them, held them, knew them.

And maybe they won’t remember every detail…
but they’ll remember the feeling.
And that feeling,
that’s what we’re preserving.

When you’re little, you dream of who you want to be when you grow up.
Maybe a doctor or a firefighter,
A teacher or a lawyer…
Maybe even the President of the United States.
Some dreamed of adventure,
some just wanted to make a difference…

But me?

I always dreamed of being a mom.
I never cared much for the career I’d have, where I’d live or how much money I made.
I just knew that I wanted to be a mom.
And now, as a mom of two…
I can honestly say that being a mom is the hardest, the most beautiful and by far, the most rewarding job that I could have ever asked for.
I am tired and stumbling my way through it most of the time
and yet, I am nothing short of blessed.
I’m living my dream.

…but second to being a mom?

My greatest honor is getting to walk alongside you in your motherhood journey.
From learning your biggest secret to capturing you radiantly glowing as an expectant mom. From holding your newborn to watching your babies grow, cheering them on through each milestone and watching you grow right alongside them.

It’s a gift I’ll never take for granted.

If you want those dreamy, candid, authentic moments…
You have to lean into the chaos.

No bribes.
No discipline.
No “perfection”.
It’s going to feel counter productive
But you got to trust me on this one.

When you leave room for the silly, the play and all that endless energy;
you are really leaving room for your kids to be themselves.
Your family photos don’t have to be something to “get through”.
You can let this moment be the event.

Make it fun.
Make it silly.
Make it enjoyable for them.

…and the result?
You get photos of your babies belly laughing,
Real smiles painted across their faces.
Muddy hands and bare feet in the grass,
Little arms reaching up towards you.
Stolen kisses and real connections.
A true picture of what this season looks like.

Because the beauty of your babies being little lies in the chaos,
The perfect imperfections that make it all worth cherishing.

These are the moments that tell the story…
the ones we’ll miss someday.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So here’s your gentle reminder:
Let it be loud. Let it be silly. Let it be real.
Lean in, laugh through it, and let it be beautiful.
Because it already is.

I have a soft spot for “little photographers.”
The kids who want to capture everything too.

The ones who reach for my camera the moment they see it.
The ones who stand right beside me during a session, holding my phone so they can get their own photos of mom and dad too.
The ones who bring their own cameras to weddings, quietly documenting behind the scenes, or grabbing photos with the guest book camera that turn out to be some of the most unexpected treasures from the day.

I’m constantly inspired by them.
Their curiosity.
Their eagerness to try.
Their tenacity to learn.
That kind of passion didn’t show up in me until later in life,
so I never take it lightly when I see it in them.

So when a kiddo asks to take a turn, I let them.
I encourage them.
Even if it means handing over my own gear just to watch their face light up the moment they press the shutter for the first time.

Here’s to all the future little photographers...
keep chasing what excites you.
One day, those dreams might just become your reality. ✨

Side note: one of my tiny clients once took photos on her own little camera on the way to a family session. She handed me the printed photos and asked me to pick one to keep.
It’s still on my fridge today. I hope one of these little photographers grows up, picks up their first real camera, and already knows that somewhere along the way, a photographer believed in them from the very beginning!

Forever noticing the smallest things.
The details that don’t ask for attention now, but end up meaning everything later.

Tiny fingers wrapping around yours.
Gripping tight without even thinking, like you’re already their whole world.
Soft, new, and impossibly small… fitting so perfectly in your hand.

It’s such a simple moment.
One you might not think twice about while you’re in it.

Until one day, you do.

Until their hand doesn’t quite fit the same.
Until they don’t reach for you in that exact way anymore.
And suddenly, a photo like this holds more than you ever expected it to.

As a mom of bigger kids, I know what it feels like to go back looking for these moments.
The ones where their hand was still this small, still wrapped so tightly around yours.

So when I’m with you in these early days, I’m paying attention to that.
To the way they hold onto you.
To the connection that doesn’t need posing or prompting.

Because one day, this will be the photo you reach for.
The one that takes you right back to when their whole hand fit in yours.
