As a long-time Nashville resident and philanthropist, the late Clare Armistead was a frequent subject of We Are Nashville who developed an unexpected friendship with the project’s renowned photojournalist Philip Holsinger along the way. NewsChannel 5 Nashville’s Forrest Sanders tells their story.

She was a Nashville-style icon and a philanthropist. The visitation for Clare Armistead took place at the Belle Meade Country Club. Armistead asked for her services to be called a Going Away Party.

This list was compiled from over 5 years of interviews with a cross section of Nashvillians—from the CEO of the Nashville Soccer Club to the former gang leader of the Gangster Disciples to the owner of Prince’s Hot Chicken—the Nashville “House Rules” is a list of the core values that make Nashville special.

With the official Kurdish delegation from Northern Iraq Monday at the exhibit, on their way to meet with Nashville Mayor John Cooper on becoming a Nashville sister city. The Mayor of Erbil presented We Are Nashville project’s author and photojournalist Flip Holsinger with an official gift from Iraq. Great to meet you all and look forward to becoming sisters. . . . .
