It’s actually crazy these are from almost two years ago!! The past few years have flown by and it’s crazy how many moments we have yet to share… figured two years was long enough for these to see light!! 💫 love these two, the energy, and their reception space vibes were 10/10!

The windiest, most beautiful day in the foothills of California with Nick + Elena.

We were awe struck at the 360 views even in the rain and wind!! These two brought so much light to the unexpected circumstances, they made it such a lovely day to be a part of, that we bet everyone in attendance would’ve danced in the rain all day for them (us too!!).

Why do we shoot film at every wedding? It’s a part of my (Nina) creative process. Different moments speak to me on digital vs film. I’ve been leaning into film for years now, and I learn more and more at every wedding in regards to what I like being on film and what I like on digital.

I always lean on the couples preference of digital or film and if it’s digital I use film for fun / added flare moments. If film is a love of their or something they look forward to I lean into it really heavily in every moment it feels right for me.

This was a simple moment, could’ve been digital or film truly, but this shot felt like a shot you’d find in your grandparents wedding photo box. The bride & groom both in the shot, but nothing posed, nothing particular, just being.

Our version of a family photo vs a traditional family photo.

(both beautiful) But we think photos like the first one bring so much more to the story. To get photos like this, time and space is needed. We let the family breathe, take time to be together, talk, and then we saw the moment and it snapped it. Leave space in your timelines to breathe, to just be together, without rushing to the next “thing” the memories made in those moments will stick with you.

A quiet morning with Rylie + her girls, as it was. We don’t like to interject too much. We want you you stay present, in the moments, into what feels comfy to you.

Your wedding day, especially moments like the mornings where calmness and peace are so valuable, should flow how you want them to.

We suggested good spots for light, good time frames for things, but let it roll as it did. This makes for a less tense environment and for photos & videos that feel like you, not just something you did for the camera.

I love finding shoes (especially the brides) at weddings. Under reception tables, tucked behind the florals, thrown out into the lawn, on the side of the dance floor.

To me it depicts the fun, the relaxed nature of kicking off your shoes and getting comfy, the cue of bare feet dancing the night away, the wedding being truly experienced. That’s what finding shoes at weddings makes me think of.

A little ceremony by the lake with H+S— if there’s something we’ve learned over the years it’s that where isn’t always the most important, but that the love & who surrounds you is what brings the tears, meaning, and joy to saying I do.
