An in-flight portrait of a Ruby-throated hummingbird at Chicot State Park in Ville Platte, Louisiana. Even at a shutter speed of 1/3200 sec, his wings are slightly blurred. I returned to Chicot early this summer because of the thriving hummingbird population I observed there late last summer. Definitely a worthwhile trip!

A bald eagle searches for food along Bayou Delarge in Theriot, LA, while a small flock of blackbirds fly overhead. I spent the second half of the day photographing osprey and spotted this eagle, my first and only of the day, on the way home from Dulac, LA.
