I prefer to be behind the camera, but when I am in front of one, I'm most comfortable with a camera (or two) in my hands... π·
Hi π I'm John, and yes I love cameras, but I love what they can do even more. You're probably shouting at your phone right now, "they just take photos, you big baboon!!".
First, baboons are extremely strong so thank you for noticing my powerful physique.
Two, I hope you're not in public and now getting weird looks from strangers.
Three, yes they do "just" take photos. But a photo can posess power.
I'm not talking about the snapshot you took of your dinner last night where it looked amazing in person, but the image looks like a pile of soggy mashed potatoes with a baby carrot on top.
No, I'm talking about a photograph with meaning.
A photograph that tells a story.
A moment frozen in time so it can be remembered and relived for an eternity.
A photograph that makes you wonder how it was created.
I can go on and on, but I hope you get what I'm saying. A great photograph has power.
That potential is why I love it so much. To create such power is, well, empowering.
I just wanted to give you a glimpse of why I do what I do and the reason why I keep showing up. I love photography, I love documenting weddings, and I love creating images that make you stop scrolling for just a second.
Thank you for being here, I sincerely appreciate every one of you. I'm looking forward to this year and can't wait to see what it brings.
Oh yea, in case you're wondering, the photo of me doing a high kick, yes, I did pull my hamstring, but it was worth it. π
