One day, the horse will grow old.

The boots will get tucked away.

The barn visits won’t happen every afternoon.

And this season of life, where a girl and her horse are completely inseparable, will become a memory.

That’s why I love senior sessions that go beyond smiling at the camera.

I want to photograph the things they love right now. The horse they’ve grown up with. The hobbies that shaped them. The little pieces of their story that deserve to be remembered long after graduation.

Because years from now, these photographs won’t just remind them what they looked like.

You know what I love? When a photo session becomes a full family affair.

I’m all about helping families get the most out of their session, and this one was the perfect example. We celebrated a high school senior’s graduation, captured updated portraits for her sister’s medical school applications, and squeezed in family photos they hadn’t done in years.

One session. Multiple milestones. A whole lot of memories preserved.

Life moves fast, and sometimes the smartest thing you can do is bundle those big moments together. I love when families think outside the box and leave with a gallery that tells more than one story.

And no, shooting at high noon in direct sunlight isn’t exactly a photographer’s dream. 😅 But this crew had a vision, wanted something a little different, and trusted the process.

Sometimes the conditions aren’t perfect, but when you’ve got great energy, great people, and a willingness to think outside the box, you make it work.

Feeling pretty damn lucky to have a job that lets me reconnect with childhood friends while documenting the beautiful lives they’ve created together.

There’s something really special about standing behind the camera watching people you grew up with become incredible parents, partners, and humans just fully stepping into this new season of life. It’s inspiring as hell.

And somehow, in the middle of all the chaos and growing up, I get to freeze a tiny little piece of it for them to hold onto forever. 🤍

This beautiful graduate from San Francisco State University Class of 2026 was fully ready to skip doing graduation photos. She didn’t really feel the need to document this moment or make a big deal out of it… until her sweet friend Sarah Brown - who she works with at Dawn Ranch - reminded her that this is a big deal. ✨

A season worth celebrating.
A chapter closing.
A new one beginning.

And I’m so glad she listened. 🥹

Now she has these beautiful photos forever, with champagne pops, her mom and dad by her side, her pup tagging along, and her dear friends cheering her on. The kind of photos that only grow more meaningful with time.

This little kiddo turns two today and it’s just wild how fast time moves.

One minute you’re rocking a baby to sleep and the next they’re running around with huge personalities, little giggles, sticky fingers, and tiny voices that somehow change overnight.

If you’ve been waiting for the “right time” to book family photos, this is your sign. Life is happening right now and these seasons deserve to be documented before they slip by.
