Being able to give my children a wild childhood surrounded by nature like I had is truly a gift, and I do not take it for granted. We are so grateful to be owners at R Ranch at the Lake. Our kids will grow up exploring the same Napa countryside I adored as a kid, exploring creeks, riding horses, and having an independence that most kids today don't get to experience.

Capturing portraits like these is what sets my soul on fire ❤️‍🔥

It was an absolute honor and privilege to photograph these young First Nations dancers in Canada last summer. Read more about these amazing kids on 's portrait of them in her feed from last July.

In two months I'll be back in Canada for another incredible workshop with Cassandra Jones and some photographer friends. So I've been looking through all the images I took last summer, and realizing there are so many I never shared, including these.

It's been a busy year so far, with a lot of magic, but also a lot of pain. I've become less open to sharing my life online lately, and there are many reasons for that. But I'm going to try to share my work more often, here for fine art portraiture and for brand + event photography, and quickie sessions for families and individuals. I have a headshot quickie event coming up next month for anyone who wants an updated headshot, and I'll be posting more about it over there.

Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful whirlwind holiday season at home in Napa and now we are ringing in the new year camping in our other favorite place, the beach 🏖️ Grateful we enjoyed some warm weather and beach time before the rain started up again.

Reflecting on 2025 has me appreciative of so much and motivated to make some changes in 2026 ❤️ I got to travel a lot thanks to my incredibly supportive husband, and I’ll be traveling even more in the coming year. I made some big decisions in my business, and I’ll be making more as I refocus my priorities. I persevered through some difficult moments and intense pain. Persevere was actually my word of the year for 2025, and it served me well.

But I don’t want to just persevere any more. So my word of the year for 2026 is…

Transformation.

Those early newborn days are tough. It's so easy to set baby down in an adorable antique cupboard full of pretty things, and then forget about her... 😉

This portrait takes a bit of magic, as babies are never actually left alone in a precarious pose. There was one hand on her at all times, and a little editing magic makes it look like she's just all snuggled up in there by herself.
