I always have a moment where I fall in love just a little bit with my couple’s love story. I get a glimpse of how they click and why they chose each other.

The first thing I noticed when I arrived was that Eric had a very nice Nikon dSLR camera in his hands. We chatted a little about his hobby and he took a few photos of the sunny creek where we planned for the first look while waited for Naomi.

A few minutes later, I was shooting portraits of just the bride. I glanced to the right, and there was Eric, beaming at her from behind his own camera. As a photographer, I can't tell you how much that touched my heart.

The desire to capture beauty and joy runs deep when you photograph for the ones you love. I know for sure she is cherished.

Mazel tov, Naomi and Eric!

Twelve years ago today, I found out I was having a boy. (Ryan!) I shot a wedding at , and I wept behind the camera during the mother-son dance.

The thought that I might get a mother-son dance, that I could come to love my son (a still-gestating fetus) as a grown man. I cried because maybe someday, I would get to look at him on his wedding day like Greg's mom saw him.

That I might be lucky enough to get a moment like this. Some moments are unforgettable. Happy anniversary, Carter and Greg!

Today is Aine and Matt’s 16th wedding anniversary! Their theme (sort of) was blueberries. Their unity ritual was plannting a blueberry bush together, and their centerpieces were blueberry bushes they planned to plant in front of their home. The cake? A blueberry lemon confection that I have remembered *since 2010.*

The next day we had a “rock the frock” session where they put their wedding finery back on. We went all around and took all kinds of photos for art’s sake and didn’t worry about the dress.

Which means… tomorrow is the 16th anniversary of Aine’s and my underwater selfie! My career has been so blessed by the coolest, unforgettable clients!

I did a pinup calendar project a few years ago. I just shared it with someone interested in a similar project, and I thought, "Why not?" A retro throwback in more ways than one!
