When I photographed my first elopement, I was a gone-er. 🥹

I fell head over heels in love with the fact that a couple could spend a day, or even just a few hours, out in Nature, doing something they love, and hold a ceremony that felt immensely sacred to them somewhere in the midst of it.

Over several years, I witnessed (and helped) couple after couple create a unique experience that felt so *them* in places that held meaning to them-and reoriented my entire photography journey around learning how to intentionally, artistically and naturally document their experience.

Howwwww have I not shared more photos from this elopement!? This was a while ago-an insanely sweet experience with the couple + a small handful of people they love.

They hiked their way down to this *insane* beach, said their vows, explored, celebrated, and truly had a wedding experience that felt sacred.

And I playyyyyyed behind the camera. This was after I'd taken some high-level composition and storytelling courses, and I was deeply enjoying being more artistic in the way I documented their day.

I will be forever grateful for clients who say, "I trust you. Do your thing." I am ON it. 🫡

DISCOUNTED SESSION UPDATE ✨ In case you missed it, I'm offering Full Sessions for just $250 for the next three months only (more details shared in this post ❤️) and spots are already filling up. Here's what I still have available:

1 session left for early or late July
1 session left for mid-late August
2 session spots open for early-mid September (I'll be at the Oregon Coast late September + am happy to do a session or two there as well ✨)

Friends!! I have something super exciting to share ✨

You may have noticed that I don't do photography full time anymore-I've been spending time with my babies and writing/podcasting 🫶🏼 but still do occasional sessions and weddings.

However-I have a really beautiful opportunity to work with an incredible business coach (literally been wanting to work with them for years), and to offset the investment, I'm temporarily offering lower FULL session rates for the next 3 months only ♥️

Same beautiful, high quality photos, same comfortable, slow-paced environment, same intentionally curated, story-telling galley, but for just $250 instead of $450. 🫶🏼

I started something new for my photography...

Over the last year, I've fallen in love with podcasting-sharing longer form stories, perspectives, and life lessons.

And I decided to bring that love of podcasting here, to my little photography world-for clients (my own or otherwise ☺️), the sweet people who've loved + followed my work over the years, and photographer friends!

Here's what's on the horizon for The Podcast (Erika Laub Photography edition ✨):

- Genuine and thoughtful guidance for clients about allllll the aspects of getting your photos taken. Mindset, location planning, helping your kids enjoy the experience, what to look for in a photographer, letting yourself be truly witnessed during a session... things to help you through the process of being fully seen + photographed.

- Personal stories and experiences from my 7 off-and-on years as a photographer. Beautiful places I've photographed at, behind the scenes of shoots, humorous mishaps, how my work evolved, what goes through my mind during shoots and editing, etc.

- For my photographer friends 🫶🏼 insights and perspectives on building a business that gives to both your clients and yourself, in a very heart-centered way. How leaning deeper and deeper into your own gifts and authenticity as a photographer is and will always be your best business practice. My own ups, downs, and everything in between as I've learned about my own needs while running a business.

Elopements have been on my mind again... 💍

But seriously, getting married in the mountains, by a lake, or even in your own back yard is its own kind of special.

You're less focused on the "stuff" and more focused on the moment.

You aren't inviting people because you feel like you *should.* You get married alone or invite a handful of people you have close relationships with.

There's an overflow of intention, slowness, and presence in elopements-and I can't wait to photograph more.

Presence is the thing that matters most to me in photography. Everything I do in a session and the way I photograph is to encourage and support deep presence.

Witnessing and photographing you, wherever you're at in life right now-whether it's kissing your babies or saying I do-is truly such an incredible gift.
