I started something new for my photography...

Over the last year, I've fallen in love with podcasting-sharing longer form stories, perspectives, and life lessons.

And I decided to bring that love of podcasting here, to my little photography world-for clients (my own or otherwise ☺️), the sweet people who've loved + followed my work over the years, and photographer friends!

Here's what's on the horizon for The Podcast (Erika Laub Photography edition ✨):

- Genuine and thoughtful guidance for clients about allllll the aspects of getting your photos taken. Mindset, location planning, helping your kids enjoy the experience, what to look for in a photographer, letting yourself be truly witnessed during a session... things to help you through the process of being fully seen + photographed.

- Personal stories and experiences from my 7 off-and-on years as a photographer. Beautiful places I've photographed at, behind the scenes of shoots, humorous mishaps, how my work evolved, what goes through my mind during shoots and editing, etc.

- For my photographer friends 🫶🏼 insights and perspectives on building a business that gives to both your clients and yourself, in a very heart-centered way. How leaning deeper and deeper into your own gifts and authenticity as a photographer is and will always be your best business practice. My own ups, downs, and everything in between as I've learned about my own needs while running a business.

The first episode is live-welcoming you to the space + giving insight on what's to come ✨

Elopements have been on my mind again... 💍

But seriously, getting married in the mountains, by a lake, or even in your own back yard is its own kind of special.

You're less focused on the "stuff" and more focused on the moment.

You aren't inviting people because you feel like you *should.* You get married alone or invite a handful of people you have close relationships with.

There's an overflow of intention, slowness, and presence in elopements-and I can't wait to photograph more.

Made this for my website but wanted to share here too 🫶🏼

Presence is the thing that matters most to me in photography. Everything I do in a session and the way I photograph is to encourage and support deep presence.

Witnessing and photographing you, wherever you're at in life right now-whether it's kissing your babies or saying I do-is truly such an incredible gift.

Photographing you makes me fall in love with my own life over and over again. It's truly an honor.

I love photographing people who claim to be "awkward" in front of the camera.

Why?

Because when you're comfortable getting your photos taken, all it means is that you've had more practice. You're used to it. You've learned, over time, how to hold your head and where to put your hands and how to show all your best angles.

But here's the thing.

When you're so focused on knowing exactly how to pose and all the right angles to hold yourself in... you're missing out on being present. You're focused on looking *just* right, instead of letting go and existing in the moment.

And for the cute humans I photograph and the type of photography I offer, knowing how to make yourself look good isn't your job (it's mine 🫶🏼 I observe, learn, and anticipate your best angles).

Your job is to be present.

Fully absorbed in the moment. Mentally and emotionally occupied by your kids and/or your partner and your surroundings. Creating memories together that you'll love looking back on. ♥️

So the ones who feel awkward, who've never or rarely had their photos taken? They are so naturally present BECAUSE they aren't used to it. They aren't thinking through every position and movement.

The awkwardness they feel is actually their superpower, because they're present.

And that's exactly what I love photographing and want most for you-that you're in the moment, not worrying about anything else, enjoying the experience + loving on your people.

I'll handle the rest, pinky promise. 😘

Friends, it's time. 🥹 I'm opening up my books for 2026, after a bit of a hiatus! Wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you. ❤️

Will share more details soon-but if you've been wanting photos (family, couples, elopements, backyard weddings) send me a message. Can't wait to co-create beautiful things with you ✨

Why does it matter to have "good" photos?

I'm inclined to believe that the better the picture is, the more powerfully it portrays whatever is in the picture. The more emotion it evokes, the deeper the story it tells.

And really, having "good" photos isn't the point. The point, is having emotionally and documentarily accurate photos.

It's almost as if, the better the photo, the more you can emotionally tap into the moment. Into the feeling. Into the story.

The photo itself becomes a portal back to the moment. That's why good photos matter.

Because they're your portal back to a moment, a season, a lifestyle you don't want to forget. ♥️

I have a few "portal" opportunities available over the next few months, message me to book:)

There’s one more session spot open this month, and two for May—if your heart’s been nudging you to have yourselves or your littles documented, this is your invitation. 🫶🏼

I photograph families and couples who want to celebrate and preserve connection, not just perfect photos.

If you’ve been craving images that feel like you—the hand-holding, the belly laughs, the quiet forehead kisses, the way your kids reach for you when they’re sleepy—I’d love to create something with you.

My sessions are gentle, playful, and guided—never stiff. I create space for you to feel seen, celebrated, and grounded in the moment.

You can choose:
– Mini session (30 mins, perfect for milestones or seasonal images, $275)
– Full session (about 60 mins, slow, immersive, story-rich, $400)

I’ve got:
🌿 1 spot left this month
🌿 2 for May
🌿 A handful open this summer + fall

Whether it’s time to update family photos or you just want to celebrate your connection in a way that feels sacred, I’d be honored to hold that space with you.

DM me or comment below to book. Let’s tell your story the way it feels. 💛
