This couple decided to do all of their portraits before the ceremony so they could spend the rest of their wedding day fully present with their family and friends. It was a first for me, and I have to say I loved it. Everything felt so relaxed, and after the ceremony they were free to celebrate without stepping away for photos. Such a great reminder that there’s no one “right” timeline it’s all about creating a day that fits you.

I absolutely love being the lead photographer at weddings, but I also genuinely love being a second shooter. There are so many moments throughout the day where having two photographers makes all the difference. While the lead photographer is focused on one part of the day, I can capture different angles, candid reactions, and moments that might otherwise go unseen especially during the ceremony and reception. At the end of the day, we’re both there for the same reason: to tell the full story of your wedding so you can relive it for years to come. More from this stunning wedding last summer.

I love when we get to incorporate veils into photos, especially cathedral-length veils. They add such an elegant, dreamy, editorial feel, bringing movement and romance to every image. ✨ This wedding was from last summer before I had moved, when I had the opportunity to second shoot for another photographer, and it’s still one of my favorite veil moments.
