I will never force a baby to do anything they don't like and I will never push a pose through a cry. It is OK if a baby doesn't like or want to do something and crying is their way of telling us NO! So we need to listen. And thats just what we do.

Newborn photography isn’t just about getting the shot.

Sometimes the baby needs to be rocked.
Sometimes they need to be fed.
Sometimes they need to be held for a while before we try again.

And sometimes the best thing I can do as their photographer is put the camera down and comfort them.

Your newborn deserves someone who understands newborn behavior, knows when to pause, recognizes when something isn’t working, and never prioritizes a photo over your baby’s comfort.

Because the beautiful images are important.

But your baby comes first. Always. 🤍

This is why I don’t believe newborn photography is the time to simply choose the cheapest photographer. You’re not just paying someone to take pictures. You’re trusting them with the tiniest, most vulnerable version of your baby.

Choose experience. Choose safety. Choose someone who knows what to do when things don’t go perfectly.

Because newborn sessions rarely go perfectly.

And that’s exactly how they’re supposed to be.

*Your baby deserves more than the cheapest photographer.*

I know. I said it. 😬

And before anyone takes this the wrong way, I'm not saying expensive automatically means better, or that you need to spend a fortune on newborn photography.

I'm saying, birth and newborn photography are not areas where price should be your ONLY deciding factor.

Because you're not just hiring someone who owns a camera.

You're trusting someone to handle and photograph your newborn safely.

You're trusting someone who understands babies, knows when to stop a pose, knows how to support a newborn properly, knows how to work with siblings, and knows how to create beautiful images without treating your baby like a prop.

And with birth photography?

You're hiring someone who needs to understand labor, birth spaces, medical teams, privacy, boundaries, unpredictability, and who needs to be ready to drop everything when your baby decides it's time.

That's experience.

That's education.

That's professional equipment and backups.

That's insurance.

That's years of learning.

And yes, that's part of what you're paying for.

So when you're comparing photographers, don't just ask:

"How much?"

Ask:

-How experienced are you?
-How do you prioritize newborn safety?
-What training do you have?
-How do you handle babies who don't cooperate?
-What happens if something goes wrong?
-What happens if my birth starts at 2 a.m.?
-What happens if YOU can't make it?

Then look at the price.

Because your baby will only be this tiny once.

You only get that birth once.

And you deserve to have those moments documented by someone you can trust.

Not necessarily the most expensive photographer.
Not necessarily the cheapest.
The RIGHT one. 🤍

There’s so much of motherhood that nobody photographs.
The quiet moments.
The in-between moments.
The moments where nothing “special” is happening at all.
Just you, sitting on the couch, figuring each other out.
Learning the weight of this tiny person in your arms.
Becoming a mother in a hundred little ways that nobody else will ever see.
That’s the story I want to remember.

Before there was a baby, there was him. 🐾

He was there for the quiet mornings, the ordinary days, the cuddles on the couch, and all the moments that made this house feel like home.

And then one day, everything changed.

A new little person came home.

So on National Dog Day, I’m celebrating the dogs who quietly become part of our family stories, and the ones who suddenly find themselves promoted to *big brother.* 🤍

Because someday, these photographs won’t just remind this family how tiny their baby was.

They’ll remember who was there from the very beginning.

I had to share this! I just came across this oldie but goodie behind the scenes photo! So presh! This was from a newborn session and I was giving some individual time to this cutie patootie at her baby sisters session. I turned the camera to show her and her little face as you can see was just SO PLEASED 🥹 Man I have photographed some really incredible people. ♥️

Model call for a 1:1 workshop I’m teaching!

This workshop is covering safety and handling of newborns, lighting, posing and more!

I need 2 babies and the studio is in Tyler.

1- baby only arrival time 11:30am

2- family (parents + baby) arrival time 2pm

Date: Saturday August 29th

Images and video will be used for advertising and models will receive digital images from the session for free.

Baby must be under 1 month of age to qualify.
