"Remember, mortal, that from the dust you were made, and to the dust shall you return." Genesis 3:19⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Ash Wednesday is a day of repentance. I have to die. Without Christ, these are hard words. With Christ, we have the hope of the resurrection. These words are a somber reminder that only Jesus' death and resurrection could pay the wage of our sin and reconcile us to our Maker. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
The ashen cross is an outward sign of both repentance and hope. Let's use this first day of the Lenten season to enter into a time of celebrating the finished work of Christ by assuming a posture of repentance, sacrifice, confessing our need for a Savior. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Today we admit our limits and acknowledge the brevity of life. "...And the dust returns to the earth as it once was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it." Ecclesiastes 12:7 ⠀⠀

• Fast from distractions that ⠀
keep us from our Father ⠀
• Feast on His forgiveness & ⠀
faithfulness⠀⠀
⠀
Between now and Easter Sunday, create space for what matters most, and make it a personal daily habit to honor Jesus’ death and resurrection as an ongoing way of life, and not reserve it to a 6-week sabbatical from fleshly indulgences.⠀
⠀
God assures us, he sees our hearts, and our longing to know him—whether we’re fasting or not, during Lent or any time.⠀
⠀
Embrace grace 🙌 Jesus wraps us close. We are infinitely more loved than we could ever imagine! ♥️Jesus, the ultimate sacrifice. Amen!⠀
