A daily dose of Gemma. A unique perspective of a resting Gemma. I decided to lie down on the floor and capture this image of Gemma lying down for a nap. Usually when I get down on the floor she jumps up to come over and see what I am doing but on this occasion she just looked back at me with sleepy eyes. The light from the window illuminated the fur on her back while the kitchen light illuminated her face. I loved how her mouth was flat on the hardwood floor with her big paws framing her head. Gemma certainly looks very comfortable and peaceful!

August 14, 2026. Long and straight! I shot this image during Barnstormers 2026: The Barns of Carrollton Manor. This is Oland Road on which the Fair Oaks Farm was situated. While standing in front of the bran I looked back toward Buckeystown Road where I had come from and noticed how long and straight the road was at it ran to the east and into the area surrounding Sugarloaf Mountain. At Buckeystown Road, Oland Road becomes Lilypons Road. The landscapes and geography are much different on the east side of the mountain compared to our rolling and hilly landscapes in the Middletown, Myersville and Wolfsville areas. In this image, the yellow and white striping on the roadway and the fence lines on either side of the road lead us into the green landscape which sits under a beautiful blue sky full of fluffy clouds.

Washington DC at night. The Marine Corp War Memorial in Arlington.

"In honor and in memory of the men of the United States Marine Corps who have given their lives to their country since November 10, 1775." The United States Marine Corps War Memorial represents this nation's gratitude to Marines and those who have fought beside them. While the statue depicts one of the most famous incidents of World War II when the Marines (and one sailor) erected the flag on Iwo Jima, the Memorial is dedicated to all Marines who have given their lives in defense of the United States since 1775.

A daily dose of Gemma. Taking a break with her squishy ball. I shot this image of Gemma as she finally took a break from the sun and spent a bit of time in the shade with her squishy ball. Soon she will return to the fun of dropping the ball into the swimming pool for us to throw for her to chase around the pool area!

August 13, 2026. Along Meeting House Road. As you drive up the hillside from Wolfsville Road you get to a stretch of the road with lots of old farm structures hidden in the woods and down a driveway just before Meeting House makes a sharp right turn and heads toward Harp Hill Road. Along this stretch sits this old farm house in an overgrown yard full of grasses and weeds. A silo that sits next to a barn further up the driveway peeks over the roof of the house and what I imagine is an old outhouse can be seen in the foreground. The farm house still has blinds and decorations in the windows and looks to be in amazingly good shape though I don't think anyone is living in the house at the moment. The two brick chimneys protrude from the metal roof and the house is wrapped in green siding that looks like shingles that was popular from the 1930s to the 1960s. The house and farm area have an amazing view looking to the east with the rising slopes and forests of Braddock Mountain in the distance. This is another one of those farm properties that I would love to walk around and take some close up pictures of the many buildings and step back in time!
