Muskegon, MI - “The Curve”, as some locals call it, is the final bend on Beach St as you enter or leave the greater Pier Marquette Beach area. I’ve heard some stories about those that simply said, “Meet me at the curve.” I’ll let you fill in the blanks from there. Happy weekend all!

Montague, MI - The sunflowers are popping so I charged up my gear for the first time in awhile and hit the road north. I really enjoy this type of subject and shooting. For those interested, I used flash exclusively on every shot I took this night due to the sun setting in the west and most every sunflower facing the opposite direction. I was looking to underexpose certain areas, add drama to a relatively lifeless, and cloudless sky, and focus on the subject of a flower or two per shot. I used a flash that I was able to handhold off camera and took various shots with different angles of the flash on the flowers I wanted to emphasize. This one seemed to get across what I was looking for, as did a few others. I worked hard on these, and some of my "rust" I accumulated over the past several months was slow to come off. However, I had a very relaxed, and pleasant go of it. I have so many other ideas I want to try and will do my best to back to Degen Farms yet this week. I have a few drone thoughts to try out, Insta 360 shots as well as others I'll keep to myself. Hope you like as I'll be posting a few more efforts sooner than later. For those that like to know: Sony a7r3, Tamron 35-150mm glass, Leofoto tripods, Godox AD200 Pro II flash (which I recommend) Godox trigger

Muskegon, MI - My Backyard 2026. My return to photography is approaching once I get to Traverse City, MI and play some long overdue golf games with some old friends. I grabbed a few flower shots a bit earlier this year while hanging at the pool. I'm hoping the rust comes off my photography game better than it has the golf the game that's for sure. If you're like me, you need to keep at something consistently to see the results you want. That rust is still stuck to large degree on the golf side of the fence. We'll see what August brings on the photog side soon enough. Enjoy one of Dona's creations in the meantime. (OMD EM1 miii) See less
