Hey everyone! While Bethany is away in Mexico shooting a wedding, I'm announcing a new project I've had on the back burner for a few years!
We've shot a lot of weddings over the years, but the wedding is only part of a big life story!
History Of: is a project I've had in the back of my mind for a while now. A life story documentary service that brings human stories to life for families through the generations!
This year's gone fast... is a thing I find myself saying every year around this time. And it doesn't seem to be slowing down. History Of: is a project I've had on the back burner for around four years. It's been a "some day when I have time" kind of project... but every year just keeps going faster.
I've shot all kind of content over the past 20 years like military exercises and deployments, commercial and nonprofit promotional videos, more weddings than I can count, educational content, and various other side projects. History Of: takes all of that and personalized it. It's about capturing personal life stories and family documentaries.
The older I get, the older my kids get, the older my parents and grandparents get... it's made me realize how important it is preserve our memories and create a legacy we can be proud of.
And, it's November and I've started seeing ads for businesses selling different kinds of legacy products and services... so I'm throwing my hat in the ring!
Here's how it works:
1️⃣ You buy a package for you or someone else.
• Legacy Interviews are great for preserving memories from capturing little kids reading and dreaming about the future to great grandparents offering advice to future generations
• Legacy Portraits are designed for multiple subjects, so this would be a great gift for the 50-years married couple, or their kids who want to tell them how much they mean
• Legacy Documentaries are larger projects that tell the whole family story across generations and locations.
2️⃣ You'll answer a couple of questions about logistics and receive a digital welcome packet to share with the recipient. It includes a customizable gift certificate and a guide with some starter questions and ideas.
3️⃣ Between January 1 and January 15, 2026 you will receive an email to book a consultation to discuss the details of the project and figure out the specifics and schedule the sessions.
4️⃣ We'll conduct the session, then in around 4-8 weeks (depending on the complexity of the project) you'll get your professionally produced video back to revisit whenever you need it. There's no rush to book, either. Whether you want to do it right away, wait for a special occasion, get the family together at a cabin in the summer... whatever works for your story!
And for anyone interested in the idea, but is more the DIY type, you could do this kind of project on your own with a smartphone and some good questions–and I'd encourage you to do so!
