Blooms in the California desert. Last October in Anza-Borrego State Park, the desert floor was alive with sunflowers, prickly pear cactus, cholla, ocotillo, and more! This shot was taken just before sunrise, and the morning mist still hung on the distant mountains.

It's Spring, which makes me think of wildflowers. And I never saw a more beautiful explosion of wildflowers than the days I spent at Mount Rainier in August 2019. The meadows were colored with creamy white Pasqueflowers, bright Magenta Paintbrush, the deep yellow Arrowleaf Groundsel, white American Bistort, and the purple Broadleaf Lupine.

Located on a hillside overlooking the village of Vík, the Víkurkirkja (Vík í Mýrdal Church) is one of Iceland’s most photographed landmarks. Its red roof and white walls stand out sharply against the dark volcanic landscape, offering a striking visual contrast that captures the raw beauty of the South Coast. In July, when lupines are blooming, additional color adds to the beauty.

You know how when you're driving through Yosemite N.P. in autumn and you see a scene unfold that is so beautiful you have to slam on the brakes, pull over, grab your camera and take a shot? Yeah, that.

From last year's trip up to the Big Sur coastline, this is McWay Falls. The beach is inaccessible except by boat, so the only way to see the waterfall is from this vantage point just off Hwy.1. Incredible that I had it all to myself on this morning.

My most favoritest view in all of Yosemite N.P. - Valley View. This image was taken in late October and though the clouds didn't show up like I had hoped, El Capitan did catch the final rays of the setting sun for just a few brief glorious moments. When nature puts on a show, it really puts on a show!

On my recent Fall trip to Yosemite, I took a drive up to Glacier Point to grab some images of that big chunk of rock known as Half Dome. After shooting some wider images to include Vernal Fall and Nevada Fall, I put on the longer lens to do some close-ups on the massive monument. It was near sunset, but the sky was very overcast, so only a little bit of light leaked through the cloud cover. Here is my favorite image from that series.
