I photograph women for a living, and for years I hated being photographed.

I could look through my camera and see everything beautiful about another woman, but I couldn’t give myself that same kindness. Hell, there were times I didn’t even want to look in the mirror.

Body positivity is complicated like that. We’re told to love our bodies, but nobody really talks about how hard that can be when you’ve spent years picking yourself apart.

Women walk into my studio all the time and tell me, “I can’t be photographed.”

I get it. I thought the same thing.

So when I tell you to trust me, I mean TRUST me. I know what it feels like to be on both sides of that camera.

Eventually I had my own “f**k it” moment. I stopped hiding and got in front of the camera anyway.

And maybe that’s where body positivity actually starts. Not loving every inch of yourself every single day, but finally deciding you’re worth showing up for anyway.

You have to give credit where credit is due.

There’s something different about the man who books a bo***ir session for the woman he loves. Because he’s seen the parts no one else sees.

He’s held her hand while she cried. He’s heard her say she doesn’t recognize herself anymore. He’s watched her stand in front of the mirror and pick apart a body he still looks at with nothing but love.

He’s watched age change her. Motherhood change her. Life change her.

And through all of it, the way he sees her never changed.

So when a man reaches out to me and says, “I want to do this for her,” I know it’s rarely just about having sexy pictures of his wife.

He wants her to feel like herself again. He wants her to walk into a room with the confidence he already knows lives inside her. He isn’t intimidated by that woman. He wants that woman standing beside him.

He doesn’t want to convince her that she’s beautiful anymore.

He wants her to finally see what he’s been seeing all along. In many ways, Bo***ir photography is the best therapy.

This image could be in a magazine, and not because of me, but because of her. She looks strong, confident and absolutely amazing. The sunset behind her is the chefs kiss.

I hear “I’m too awkward for this” wayyyy too often. And sure, family photos can feel awkward. Selfies can definitely feel awkward 😂 But bo***ir is different because we walk you through EVERYTHING. Where to look, where to put your hands, how to move your body…you’re never standing there wondering what the hell you’re supposed to do.

You don’t need to know how to pose or be naturally good in front of a camera. I just need you to trust me and believe in yourself as much as I already believe in you.

Because I already know what you’re capable of before you ever step in front of my camera. 🖤
