Continuing the photo session catch-up... 📸🤍

I still can’t believe sweet Logie is ONE! It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating her arrival, and now she’s running around with the biggest personality.

Selfishly, one of my favorite things is how excited she gets when she sees me. The only person who might give a bigger welcome is her big brother. 🥹 Their smiles have been a light in some really hard days over the past few weeks, and I’m so thankful for the joy they bring.

Looking back, I really wish someone had recorded this session. Between Mom, Dad, big brother, and me doing everything we could to earn a smile or a giggle, I’m sure we looked absolutely ridiculous. 😂 It definitely took a team effort.

She was also a *huge* fan of the icing, which made for some pretty adorable cake smash moments. 🎂 Shoutout to Dad for making the birthday cake!

Watching this little girl grow has been such a gift. Looking at her today, you’d never know she spent months in the NICU. She’s strong, resilient, full of joy, and absolutely thriving.

Happy first birthday, LJ. It is such a joy to be your aunt. I love you so much, and I can’t wait to watch you grow into the amazing little girl God created you to be. 🤍

Been a little behind on sharing sessions lately... and by "a little," I mean these were taken back in April. 😅 Life has been a little crazy, but I'm finally getting caught up!

This sister of mine and her friends graduate from nursing school in just two weeks, so get ready…there are lots more photos coming! 🎉

I can't wait to celebrate all of her hard work and this incredible milestone. Nursing school is no small feat, and it's been so much fun getting to capture this exciting season. 🤍

Now excuse me while I spend this week catching up on sharing all the beautiful people I've had the privilege of photographing. 📸

Today has basically been one long game of "export, upload, repeat." 😂

Wedding gallery? ✅
Newborn gallery? ✅
One-year session? ✅
Senior photos? ✅

Safe to say it's been a serious catch-up day over here, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I never get tired of freezing these moments in time—the big milestones, the tiny details, and everything in between. Years from now, these photos will matter even more than they do today, and getting to preserve those memories is something I'll never take for granted. ❤️

I've always been a "take the picture" kind of person.

But after the week our family has walked through following my stepmom's passing, I believe it more than ever.

These photos were taken over two years ago and one of them was used in her Celebration of Life service. But that's not why they're so meaningful to me.

Yesterday, we spent hours looking at pictures. Professional photos. Phone photos. Old disposable camera photos. Between nine adults, we had hundreds of images that helped tell the story of a life well lived.

And honestly it was the pictures that made me cry more than anything.

Not because they captured a smile or froze a moment in time, but because they helped us relive memories. Walking into the auditorium and seeing those moments on the screen brought back conversations, laughter, family gatherings, and ordinary days that suddenly felt priceless.

Pictures don't just help us remember what someone looked like. They help us remember what it felt like to be with them.

So I don't say this as a photographer.

I say this as a daughter who is grieving:
Take the picture.

Take the one when everyone is dressed up.
Take the one when nobody is.
Take the group photo.
Take the selfie.
Take the blurry phone picture.
Take the ordinary Tuesday picture.

You'll never wish you had taken fewer photos.

But one day, you may wish you had taken more.

The Morris family is one of those families you can just tell—this kid is already so loved and exactly where they belong. Getting to be there with them felt really special and I was honored to capture this special memory for them.

Then came the moment they’ve been waiting for—the official “yes.” So many smiles, so much joy, and a room full of family and friends showing up to celebrate right alongside them. It was one of those moments where you could just feel how big it was.

Walking through security, one of the guards asked if I was “the one who photographs all the adoptions around here.” And while I’m not quite that yet… I’d be honored to be. Truly. There’s nothing like getting to witness and capture moments like these.

Adoption court days are quickly becoming some of my favorite things to photograph. There’s nothing staged or forced about it—it’s just real, life-changing moments that matter. 🤍
