Hey Phlashy Phamily,
I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to ask for help — something I’m not great at. I’m a do‑it‑myself kind of girl, and I don’t like handouts or admitting I can’t fix something or do something on my own. I also don’t usually share much behind the scenes about the studio, it's SO much work, but here I am.
Last month, I had a major plumbing issue in the studio. The repairs are finally done, but the flooding destroyed the bathroom floor. The tiles had to be removed, and what’s left behind is some kind of industrial adhesive — sticky enough to be a problem, but not sticky enough to accept new flooring. I’ve tried everything I can think of, and I’m officially at a loss.
So, I’m reaching out to see if anyone has a handy fiancé, husband, partner, or friend or maybe it's YOU who's reading this that might be willing to take a look and help me figure out a cost‑effective solution. I’m absolutely open to bartering services. I can give sessions or birth work in exchange.
The bathroom is tiny, basically the size of a walk‑in closet. I can send pictures, measurements, or meet in person if needed.
Between losing HUNDREDS of dollars in backdrops that were ruined in the 3 inches of standing water, the newborn fabrics that molded, plus the lost income from canceled and rescheduled sessions, I’m just exhausted. I’m grateful the plumbing is fixed and for all of those who have stepped in to help recover YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, but now I can’t even access the bathroom because of the adhesive left behind and no adequate flooring. I need it fixed and clean and safe for my guests.
If you know someone who’s skilled with flooring or small renovation projects and might be open to helping, please let me know via PM. I’d really appreciate it.
*Before anyone suggests I speak to the owner of the building, repairs and upgrades are part of my responsibility per my lease.
