Good moooorning my friends! It’s been a few months now since I’ve seen you all. I hope you enjoyed the summer!

Although I do miss “my babies”, I am feeling confident in the decision I made to close the photography business. It has given me time to be there for my family when they needed me. There are some wonderful travel opportunities coming up. And I have re-decorated and re-purposed the rooms! I thought you might like to see what has become of the space that served us so well as Shorter Shots Photography for over 10 years…

It is now my Creative Studio and I couldn’t love it love it more!
And the office has now been transformed, so that we have a dining room once again! (see pic in comments)

In the creative space, I have a sewing corner, an office zone, and a cozy little window seat in the middle of the storage wall that used to hold a plethora of props and has now been expanded, sanded, painted, and relocated to the other end of the room to hold all of my craft supplies. It’s all there: knitting, crocheting, macramé, decoupage, floral design, metal, stamping, and more. Everything except for my woodworking tools that live in the garage. Carefully hidden away amongst it all are my very favorite photography supplies too, for whenever I get the urge.  And then of course there’s Bertha… the big, beautiful crafting table created from two antique desks, giving me enough space to make all the things! She also has four chairs so I can craft with friends and maybe even teach a little class now and then. 

Now that I’ve caught you up on what’s happening in my world, I would love an update on yours. How are all the little cuties are doing? Please do drop me a note in comments if you feel so inclined. Bonus points for pictures!

Yahoooo! It was a mighty long week at my desk, but I made it! All the editing from last week's sessions is finished and links have been TEXTED to parents. I'll be back to post some baby bunnies over the weekend, but otherwise, I'm off until Monday. Have a GREAT weekend!

Well folks, I am feelin' all the feels over here today! Excited for the next chapter. Sad that I won't be seeing "my babies" anymore. Happy to get some of the house back again (we haven't had a dining room table in ages.) Grateful that you've shared your children with me all these years. And proud of what we've accomplished. And I say we because I mean WE! Right now I'm talking about what YOU AND I accomplished for our partner charity Caring for Kids, Inc.

When I paired up with them last year, I met with one of the staff members to discuss what they do and how Shorter Shots Photography's donations could best be used. At that time they told me they had recently, unexpectedly lost a $10,000 grant for one of their programs; a program to provide ongoing support for those courageous birth mothers who make what has to be one of the most difficult decisions of their lives.

In my head I was thinking how awesome, although probably unrealistic, it would be to be able to replace that lost grant over the course of the next several months. In my head I wondered if donating the profits from monthly mini-sessions could get close. And in my head I was hopeful, although I wondered if I was crazy to try.

But today I am just SO HAPPY to tell you that YES, as of this final week of sessions, WE DID IT!!! It was touch and go there this week with cancellations due to springtime illnesses going around. But as of the last session of the day, we made it! I just wrote the final check to bring our total to just over $10,000 donated. I cannot tell you how happy this makes me. And I cannot thank you all enough for your support in so many ways.

Ok, enough for today. It's been quite a week and I'm exhausted. But I'll be back posting for the next few weeks at least, sharing some of the fun we had in the studio these last several days. But for now, many thanks, and have a wonderful weekend, all of you!
