Friendly reminder to fill your wedding day with moments and experiences that you love ❤️‍🔥

You have the freedom to spend your wedding day with each other exactly how you want to, and taking time to share an activity or adventure you love is such a beautiful way to celebrate! Want to drive your van around and stop at a beautiful roadside park? Run around your favorite town? Pet some yaks? Play uno? Hike somewhere beautiful?!

Whatever you love, share it on your day. You’ll be SO happy you did ✨

Want to know the best way to make sure you have an amazing wedding experience and also ensure you’re getting the best photos?

So much of your exoerience comes down to the timeline. Figuring out how much time to dedicate to what moments, sorting the order of events, and above all else making sure you feel nothing but magic & fun when it all rolls around. In 10 years of photographing weddings + elopements, I’ve learned about what makes a day flow seamlessly and beautifully and gives the couple a fantastic experience, and also know what sometimes pops up as a red flag for a potential stress point. 🚩 here are some do’s & don’ts →

Don’t forget to save this post for when it’s time to make YOUR timeline!

Always build in plenty of buffer time. Drive between spots takes 15 minutes? Give it 30. The events before may end up taking longer than expected, or maybe you’ll have a little extra time after the drive to breathe and have fun!

I recommend to all of my couples that we either have sunrise or sunset photos. The lighting is the best of the day, the sky is glowing, the colors are so beautiful. 10/10 don’t skip.

Sharing an activity is an amazing way to bring some of your personality and relationship not just into your photos but also your wedding day!! Love to visit breweries? Go swimming? Roast marshmallows? Make time to do share that on one of your most important days together!

Nothing causes stress like trying to do too much. Its never worth trying to visit just one more location or do one more thing with an extra 10 minutes, and it will inevitably cause stress. If you want to do more, consider adding additional coverage, or adding an additional session before or after your wedding day to give you space to enjoy that adventure!

If you aren’t eloping alone, giving yourselves time to be together is a must. Get a moment to breathe and take in the significance of that day without onlookers and be able to just be with each other for a moment ✨

Eloping is an adventure. Sometimes you need to go to wherever is calling you - somewhere nostalgic, somewhere unexplored, or maybe somewhere unexpected. For these two, the call was to somewhere new. Out to the most beautiful little hidden gem, tucked away in the Pennsylvania woods for the most beautiful sunrise moments ✨

The BEST part of eloping is that you get to have a day that is exactly you, whatever that may be!!

For some it’s hiking up their favorite mountain, for others it’s a day tucked away at a cozy airbnb in the woods.

For these two, it was a sunrise hike somewhere secluded and beautiful with their dog and an entire day to relax and be themselves. And we brought that vision to life - with a gorgeous little hike, serene cabin in the woods, and plenty of time to enjoy each moment and of course play with their pup 🐶

Months later, I still think back on moments from this day. First of all, it was beyondddd an honor to get hired by a fellow photographer to photograph their intimate wedding day, and I’m still over here feeling so lucky!

From the first time we talked, I knew Haley and Elijah had a vision. She created so many of the details herself, had a close friend help with designing things, and worked her magic on every part of their wedding day. And having everything set within the gorgeous grounds at just made everything even more incredible!

Whether it was during their private vows, sun-soaked ceremony, romping around the woods, dancing under the stars, or toasting with loved ones - the love between the two of them and everyone around them was palpable ✨

To say Tess + Curran’s wedding day was a DREAM feels like an understatement. It was one of those days where everything just feels right - gorgeous weather, no crowds, adventure, so much laughter, and just the best vibe all day ✨

I frequently talk with folks who wonder how you can fill a whole 8h+ day for your elopement, and I thought that this incredible day would be an amazing example! Having time gives you the opportunity to explore new places, create experiences for yourself, be creative, and to truly be in the moment with each other and your loved ones. To Tess + Curran, that looked like a beautiful adventurous ceremony, exploring waterfalls, a charcuterie picnic on the Lake Superior shoreline, and time to spend with each other and loved ones at their cabin!

This day was made EXTRA special by the fact that Tess and I met when we were like 18 (babies!!) and them choosing to bring me along on this adventure to a bucket list destination of mine was just such an honor in every way 🥹

Still reeling that we are already 8 days into the new year!! To say 2025 was unreal feels like an understatement. I saw places I’d never been to before, traveled out of the state, and allowed to be a part of and document your celebration of your love. To all of my couples - thank you, thank you, thank you 💛 For letting me in, being yourselves, and making me feel like part of your families. I am the luckiest girl and I’m beyond grateful for another absolutely amazing year of being able to have this career 💛

2026 is going to be SO GOOD and I cannot wait for the next adventures with all of you this year!!!
