Chapel Loop at Pictured Rocks has been on my list to finish forever, when Viet called wanting to do something adventurous and wild, this was the place.

They started their hike early, while the light was soft and the forest was quiet.
I had set out slightly before sunrise, ready to get to Grand Portal Point before them, so they had space to explore and settle into their adventure without feeling rushed or watched.

Once they arrived, he asked and she said yes. After some time celebrating we continued on the second half of the loop, stopping for photos as light shifted along the cliffs and the scenery changed.

This is what an unhurried, intentional proposal shaped by the place as much as the moment feels like.
