Should you do a first look with your fiancé before your wedding ceremony?

There’s a number of reasons why this might be a good option for you. And the only downside I see is that you don’t have that first look when coming down the aisle. But I promise that moment will still so emotional and beautiful ❤️ But here are some reasons to do a first look:

You get to spend more of your wedding day with your new spouse instead of hiding from each other.

You can take the time before the ceremony to do wedding party photos and even some couples portraits so you won’t need as much time between your ceremony and reception (your guests will thank you) AND you will more likely have the time to join cocktail hour if you’d like!

You get a special, private moment with your partner to get excited for your day without the nerves of everyone watching you.

And lastly, I have to mention this as a photographer, the photos are always so sweet and cute 🥺 It’s definitely a favorite moment of mine on wedding days.

I love playing with shadows and direct sunlight!

I don’t share detail photos a lot because they really aren’t a focus of mine on your wedding day. I focus on moments and emotions that can’t be saved and tucked away in a box. But I think details can also be a fun and special thing to capture since I know you put a lot of time and thought into them. They’re part of your wedding day’s story.

So that being said, I figured these deserved a spot on my feed ❤️

Some golden hour goodness ☀️

Golden hour photos is probably my favorite time of the wedding day. You’re both more relaxed, the lighting makes for some beautiful photos, and it’s your last chance to sneak away from the chaos of the reception before you start dancing the night away 💃🏼 🕺🏽

Do you feel uncomfortable in front of the camera? Because I sure do. It’s nerve wracking if you aren’t used to it and I’ve never thought so hard about what to do with hands 😅

But the good news is, almost everyone feels that way so I know how to help you! I even feel that way which is why I continue to put myself in front of the camera. It helps me better understand how to help you.

I’ll tell you where to put your hands, I’ll use prompts to get you to move naturally and comfortably, and I’ll talk to you the whole time to help ease the nerves.
