I feel incredibly blessed and honored to be entrusted to take photos of this beautiful baby girl at the hospital and at home. I could not have asked for a better experience for my first time doing hospital, newborn and family photos! Thank you Amanda Broxson and Zac Duffey!

On the way back up from Mason Lake on the Ira Springs Trail on my birthday weekend. The views of the mountain were incredible and yes the sky really was that blue!

It is no secret that I love seeing and photographing the Aurora Borealis. I have been lucky enough to do this 3 times before, but nothing compares to the show in the early morning hours of Mother's Day. Usually in order to see the lights dance (you can't see the colors with the naked eye, but you can see the movement) you have to let your eyes adjust and you can't look at your phone for fear of ruining your night vision. This time, however, the lights were so strong that I could see the immediately after getting out of my car. It was amazing!

I always feel like I am a part of something special each time. I feel blessed to get to photograph something so beautiful and to see it the way I did this time was icing on the cake. It was the perfect addition to my birthday weekend!

(12/366) Are you ever struck by something you see and you immediately have a plan for an image you want to capture? It doesn't happen to me often outside of landscapes, but I today I looked at this lamp in my classroom with new eyes. Product of this project? I hope so!

(11/366) One of the prerequisites of being a kindergarten teacher is a love of coloring. So when the whole adult coloring thing became a trend I of course had to try it out. Here is a piece that is a work in progress.

(10/366) What do you do when your favorite team wins a playoff game? Go outside and capture some sunbursts of course! :) There is so much technically that I would change with this photo, but emotionally it is exactly what I was going for.

(9/366) After a morning run, I noticed the clouds were creeping toward the mountain. I found a spot and took a few photos. This is not what I thought I was going to be posting, but when I was editing there was something about this view that captured my attention.

(6/366) I loved the cotton candy feel of this mornings sunrise and that this project is giving me an excuse to always have my big camera on hand for these moments.

(5/366) My first attempt at some long exposure night photography that does not involve the northern lights. It was much tougher than I thought. Good thing I have so many more days to practice!
