If you know me, you know my nephews and niece hold a very special place in my heart. I have three nephews and one niece, and I may be a little biased, but I think they're pretty perfect.

One of the greatest blessings of being a photographer is getting to preserve the milestones of so many families—including my own. From tiny newborn fingers to first birthdays and all the moments in between, these are memories that can never be recreated.

I'm so thankful that God has given me the opportunity to do what I love while documenting the people I love most. It truly is one of His good and perfect gifts. 🤍

Sometimes the best photo sessions are the ones that don't include perfectly posed photos. Sometimes letting kids be kids is the best way to get perfect photos.

These girls had one mission: don't stop moving. 😂 Thankfully, one of my favorite parts of photography is chasing little ones around and being able to get my steps in.

Between the giggles, the running, and all the in-between moments, we captured so much genuine joy. Those are the memories that tell the real story, and I loved every minute of preserving them for this sweet family.

Today my little buddy turns one, and somehow this year has gone by in the blink of an eye.

One of my biggest goals as a photographer is to provide you with more than just beautiful photos — I want you to have an amazing experience from start to finish.

One of the questions I am asked most often is, “What should we wear?”

Because of that, I created a style guide to help make outfit decisions easier for my clients. While the guide I currently have works well for some seasons, I want to expand it so it can be helpful year-round!

Over the next several months, I will be creating a complete style guide, and I need your help! I am looking for:

✨ Seniors
✨ Families
✨ Couples

to participate in a styled one-hour session where we will create images specifically for this guide.

In return for your time, you will receive edited images from your session as a thank you! The only cost to you is your time.

If selected, I will ask that you bring a few outfit options so we can create different looks and show how clothing choices can impact your final gallery. Be prepared to have some fun and possibly change outfits during your session!

My mission as a photographer is to provide people with high quality photos at the most affordable price possible. Photography is a talent provided to me by God and I am so very thankful that I have the opportunity to preserve moments for so many people. My goal is to create a relaxed, joyful experience where clients can laugh and create memories, not just photos. I strive to serve every client with excellence while giving God the glory for every opportunity He provides.

This spring I was given the wonderful opportunity to do a session I hadn't ever done before and it has become one of my favorite memories and the most fun I've had this year. Watching this family spend time together (while taking photos) reminded me why I became a photographer.

5 Things Every Senior Should Know Before Booking Their Senior Session 📸

🎓 1. Book earlier than you think.
The best dates go quickly, especially during the fall. Booking early gives you more flexibility and plenty of time to receive your photos before yearbook deadlines.

👕 2. Wear outfits that feel like YOU.
Choose clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable. Your senior session should reflect your personality.

📍 3. Don't stress about the location.
I'll help you choose a location that matches your style, whether that's a field, creek, downtown, or somewhere meaningful to you.

😊 4. You don't have to know how to pose.
One of the biggest concerns I hear is, "I'm awkward in front of the camera." That's completely okay! I'll guide you every step of the way.

✨ 5. Have fun!
Your senior year only happens once. This session is about celebrating who you are during this exciting season of life.

Why did I choose to become a photographer?

Growing up, I always had a camera in my hands. My grandparents bought me a little point-and-shoot digital camera, and I took it everywhere.
One day, I snapped a picture of a truck speeding down the highway from my grandparents' yard. Looking back, it may not have been anything extraordinary, but I remember loving the composition and thinking it looked so cool. When I showed my grandparents, they told me, "You could be a photographer one day."
As the years went by, my love for photography continued to grow. Then, as an early college graduation gift, my grandparents bought me my first professional camera—a Nikon D3400. I spent the next year learning everything I could, practicing whenever I had the chance, and falling even more in love with photography.
In May 2018, I officially started REA Photography.
I picked up a camera because I loved taking pictures, but I never imagined it would grow into a business that would allow me to meet so many incredible people and preserve some of life's most meaningful moments. From welcoming newborns into the world to celebrating seniors as they prepare for their next chapter, it has been such a blessing to be trusted with these memories.

If we've never met, hi! I'm Rachel—the eyes behind the camera at REA Photography. I'm a small-town photographer who loves Jesus, golden hour, creative mini sessions, and helping people feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Today I'm thankful to live in a country where I have the freedom to worship, serve, and share my faith. But even more than that, I'm thankful that I've chosen to follow Jesus.

Jesus paid the ultimate price so that I could experience true freedom through Him. Because of His sacrifice, I have hope, grace, and a life that is forever changed.

I am incredibly blessed to have spent the Fourth of July surrounded by my family. Happy Fourth of July! ❤️🇺🇸
