...and this one, the cutest/weirdest kid in the Ngapali Beach fishing village. He followed us around, making faces, giving us the crazy eyes, and trying to hit us with that bamboo stick. The stuff on his face (and almost everyone in Myanmar) is ground thanakha tree bark, thought to have all kinds of special powers:

This photo keeps popping up in my screensaver and reminding me that I love it. Young boy in a tiny market village at the far end of Inle Lake in Myanmar.
