After spending over a year using a popular (and well made) editing template because I thought it was the best way to keep up with trends, I'm so happy to say I've created my own editing template that I've fallen in love with!

It combines true-to-color with film-inspired and I think it looks more timeless. It just fits my photos better!

I've decided to start treating photography like my own art form, instead of trying to use it to please everyone.

Sometimes what's trendy doesn't match up with your personal taste and that's okay!!!

Now Editing: True-to-Color Instead of Muted!!!

After hours of work, I've done a complete rebrand and overhaul of the website! I'm so excited to announce some big changes!

Instead of doing the trendy, muted editing style with washed out skin tones, I'm opting to switch back to true-to-color and vibrant skin tones.

Why am I doing this after over a year of the other style??

I believe there's a certain magic in maintaining the real colors of the image. I also think this style is more timeless and will look better printed out, as opposed to a faded color look! I realize this may not be for everyone and that's okay!!! There are plenty of photographers out there who will edit in the current trendy styles.

I'm also adjusting my portrait package offerings. Because I have a more candid approach, instead of shooting just portraiture, I'm now switching to Lifestyle Sessions.

How are lifestyle sessions different from portraits?

With lifestyle photography, we'll focus on capturing prompts instead of poses. We'll plan the session around an activity (for example, a family picnic) instead of stiff posing. This is similar to what I've been doing already, but the name is more accurate than calling it "portraits."
