💛Aren’t they so cute? While most warblers are on their way out of Ohio for the winter the Yellow Rumped Warblers (nicknamed Butterbutt)are flocking into Ohio right now.

💛Yellow-Rumped warblers, unlike other warblers who eat insects, switch their diet over to fruit and berries. While they love poison ivy berries they will eat juniper berries, cedar berries, wild grapes and dogwood berries.

💛You can also attract them this winter with suet, peanut butter and sunflower seeds.

A rainy day today allows us to share one of our favorite sunrise pictures earlier this week.

This photo, I love because it shows us the moody side of October. The misty low lying fog, the orange glow, layering the magical depth of this serene morning.

🤎The Northern Harriers have returned! Yesterday we caught a glimpse of this beautiful hawk, that has returned to our central Ohio grasslands for 3-4 years now.

🤎This bird is ENDANGERED in Ohio due to habitat loss. It is such a joy to provide clean, healthy grasslands for them again this year.

🤎Right now, we are checking grasslands to make sure they have plenty of hunting spaces as well as taller grasses to roost in at night on the ground to feel safe from predators.
