I was surprised to have Klapatche Park all to myself Sunday night. The ranger shared with me that it would probably be the case while checking my permit on my way up. I got giddy! It's also the first visit that I was able to get still water for a reflection in Aurora Lake. High clouds to the west subdued final light, but I couldn't complain.

There was no snow to speak of on the trail -crazy for June! However, that changed going up to St. Andrews Lake, which was just starting to melt out. My app had me at ~24.5 miles, ~4,300' elevation gain in my travels.

This has been a wonderful year for the tulips. I hope everyone gets a chance to go visit the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival this year in Mount Vernon. Beautiful times!

Enjoyed a beautiful day up in the Skagit Valley the other day and am just getting started with editing. The area has changed quite a bit since my last visit, and I certainly have reason to return again in the coming days!

While everyone seems to be rushing to the UW campus to see the cherry blossoms, I turned the steering wheel a different direction. I realized it had been ~18 years since my last visit! While much has changed, much has stayed the same.
