A little October magic in the Catskills. The kind of day that reminds you how little you really need for a perfect wedding: the kind of weather you wish you could bottle up, a playlist that never missed, a table full of good food, and the people who make it all the more meaningful.

Jules & Elliot, you couldn’t have dreamed up a better day.

A note to my mommas who might be waiting for life to feel a little more put together before stepping in front of my camera,

You don’t need a perfectly tidy, Pinterest-worthy home.
You don’t need the expensive outfits or the perfectly coordinated children.
You don’t need everyone to nap, cooperate, or smile on cue.

There may be toys on the floor.
There may be tears.
There may be crumbs on little cheeks and someone refusing to put their shoes on.

And that’s okay.

Because someday, this ordinary little life will be the life you ache to remember.

The home you lived in.
The tiny hands that reached for yours.
The curls you brushed away from their eyes.
The way they climbed into your lap when they were tired.
Even the chaos you sometimes wished you could fast-forward through.

You don’t have to wait until life looks perfect to have it photographed.

You just have to show up—exactly as you are, with the people you love most.

As I start to come to the end of another wedding season, I’ve been thinking a lot about what this work really means to me.

There is no shortage of long days, early mornings, late nights, planning, moving pieces, and everything that comes with being responsible for documenting such an important day. But somehow, none of that is what I remember most.

I remember the people.

I remember sitting down with a couple and hearing the stories of how they grew up. Meeting their parents and siblings. Seeing the places that shaped them. Learning the little pieces of their lives that brought them to the day I’m there to photograph. Being welcomed into rooms, homes, and family moments that I otherwise would have never known existed.

And somewhere along the way, I stop feeling like I’m simply there to photograph a wedding and start feeling like I’ve been given a small place in someone’s story.

That is something I will never take for granted.

When I look back on 2026, I know I’ll remember the photographs, but even more than that, I’ll remember the people I met along the way—people I may have never crossed paths with otherwise, who let me into some of the most meaningful days of their lives.

I feel incredibly lucky that this is what I get to do, and even luckier that I get to carry these memories with me long after the weddings are over.
