One of the strange things about becoming a mom again at 40 is realizing how quickly the years really do pass.
These portraits are of my 19-year-old son.
Some days I’m rocking a baby to sleep, and other days I’m looking through my camera at a young man and wondering where all the time went.
Lately I’ve been creating more, experimenting with painted backdrops, studio lighting, and ideas that have been living in my head for years. It feels good to make art again.
But moments like this remind me why I picked up a camera in the first place.
Not because time stands still.
Because it doesn’t.

There’s something healing about building the world you want to create in.

Paint. Texture. Imperfection. Layers.
I wanted this backdrop to feel aged, cinematic, lived in… like something pulled from memory instead of bought in a box.

Sometimes the art starts long before the camera ever comes out.

Some people don’t pose.
They just exist honestly in front of the camera

For a long time, I stepped away from photography.

Life changed. I changed.

And somewhere in the middle of motherhood, loss, healing, and rebuilding, I found myself slowly returning to the thing that always made me feel most alive: creating.

Not just taking photos. Creating images that feel honest. Atmospheric. Human.

The work I’m creating now feels quieter, more intentional, and more like me than ever before.

Over the next few months, I’ll be opening a limited number of editorial portrait sessions for teens, women, creatives, and motherhood.

Thank you for being here while I find my way back to this work again.
